New Conan RPG fan - simple question...

Hello everyone!

I am new to the Conan RPG, having just received my book today. I have a few questions:
1. How do I know which printing of the 2nd edition book I got? I did buy it New from Amazon, but it says it was published in 2007. Does anyone know if this is the version with the binding problem?

2. I have much to digest with the rules, but wanted to ask if there are any players in the Connecticut area? I will be looking to start a game soon...

3. Which brings me to my next and final question: What adventure/module/campaign do you recommend for a starting group of first level players? Don't care if it is from Signs and Portents, or if I have to purchase it.

My thanks to everyone that responds.

I can only give some advice regarding #3:

Do check out the resources at thulsa's site:
http://hyboria.xoth.net/adventures/index.htm

There are several free adventures and classic conversions there, at least one of which (Slaver's Caravan) is designed for 1st-level characters.
Also check out thulsa's published collection City of the Spider-God's Bride, which contains 10 well-written original adventures for levels 1-10 (i.e. 1 adventure for each level) and can be purchased as PDF for a very reasonable $10. Most of these are set in the southern regions.

Hope that helps. :)

1. If you got a round binding and the Spawn of Dagoth Hill sample adventure at the end of the book, then you've got the last version. If you have a squared binding (with probably a slightly bended cover), then you were screwed and your book will soon start to lose pages pretty soon...

My last printing of the game (the good one) is also a 2007 version..

2. I'm in France, so I can't help you on this one...

3. Follow Clovenhoof's advice and check Thulsa's Site for nice Conan ressources.

I've always thought the old CB1 module for AD&D, Conan Unchained, was a very good start for a Conan campaign. It needs some revisions and fleshing out, but the basic plot and mood are very "Conanesque".

Across the Thunder River is a very good supplement on Picts and features a nice low-level adventure.

For a campaign more based on the Hyborian lands, Heretics of Tarantia is not bad.

Thanks to both of you for getting back to me... Rounded bindings and the adventure "Dagoth Hill" - woohoo! My book is the latest.

I will be checking out Thulsa's site tonight. Thanks for the tip on the site. The published pdf adventures sound good too!

Now if you guys could just move to Connecticut I will be all set!

Thanks again.

Whoops!! Just bought my 2nd Edition Conan RPG. Think I got the one with the Squared binding and slight bend to the cover.

Love the game though. I will just have to use this rule book till it falls apart. Then buy another and use the old one for referance.

Wish I had known about this issue sooner though
