New books V2.0

Mongoose sent us a preview set of books a couple of weeks ago and, as several threads have mentioned, they were a little "rough". The build quality was not fantastic even though the contents were superb. I'm glad to say that (as most of you will be finding out by now) the 2nd print run of the books appears to be 10/10 - everything is improved over the 1st run: print quality, binding, page number, the works. As most are quick to jump on and point out the shortfalls I thought I'd be 1 of the first to jump on and say well done on turning this around so quickly and producing a 1st rate set of books.
The content of 2nd edition is a marked improvement ruleswise and the fleet books appear to be far more balanced than before, the changes that have taken place to the rules appear to be beneficial and largely well thought out, adding whilst not detracting to the game itself.
All in all, V2.0 is a job well done!

Well, I just ordered from the states today. Here's hoping I get a V2.0 book.

Yeah, like I really care. I had an Oriental Adventures book for the 1e AD&D that lost it's binding to the middle sections on day 2. Still used the hell out of it.

i orderd them both 2 weeks b4 release and no delivery yet

I hope they were brought back and i get a second run, as i wouldnt mind the wait if i did, quality over quantity, no wait, speed :D

I've had mine on pre-order for... 6 weeks? I can't remember how long they've been available for pre-order, but it was pretty much right about then.

Dark Angel

I just received confirmation my books have shipped. Two weeks to wait and then I get them at the post box. Going European would be faster, but more expensive. I can wait. :)

A friend got his today and we played them tonight, (four of us, 2 War points each) and it was fairly smooth. The rule book had "rough" paper and the binding came apart after an hour of handling. The fleet book was made of better and sterner stuff.
