New Bases and New Hyperions!

I think I have to look out for some of the old models.

surley not, they are more faithful to the Hyperion seen on the show and definitely not worse than the old one.

I think the new ones look great.. took me a second to realize I only needed the Assault and Regular (not playing early EA). However yeah, at $16 a pop I think I can live with the Hyperions I have.

They aren't so pretty, but they match the prettiness of my other EA minis.

I think I'll just stick to regular bases for now. and since they are a premanet part of the cateloge then there's no rush.

I think they aren't produced by Mongoose themselves. Bases often come from other manufacturers than the mini, that's common practice.

To reiterate, why are these Hyperions so much more expensive? They are a full 33% more in cost, for the same type of ship.

Are these prices adjusted already?

I'm guessing the new Hyperions aren't on sale. Or there's just a severe premium for the small run these molds are going to get.

As for the bases.. I bought a few metal ones but I still prefer the Ninja Magic system to some plastic ball/cup system.

Probably to cover the costs involved in developing the new minis. The old Hyperion had already recouped that long ago. Selling an old Hyperion needed to cover the materials, labour and distribution. New one has the same costs plus the dev costs on top.

If you don't like the higher price, just get the old models while they are going cheap. :?

Me? I am quite tempted as they look kinds sweet.

I don't know how good these babies are up close, but i do know the old Hyperions (mine, at least) SUCK. Tons of flash, mottled hull, misaligned hull... :evil:

They are much lighter than the other EA ships seen on screen. Against a black background, they do look quite bright.

You are right though, definitely not white.

Its a realistic price compared with other miniatures, it aint a cheap hobby......
