NA point defense question.

Hey we need a clarification. While we realize that gatts are the way to go as far as point defense goes, most ships don't have them. So if my Hornet is about to be engaged by a pair of Harpies, what then? Do I have to take it on the chin or can I try my luck with missiles and light lasers?

As far as I am aware there is no rules for using primary weapons as point defense - but you could make up some house rules for it and see if people like.

That is my whole point, with only the Hazat having an escort at the moment, it seems to me that a ship without gatts are basically helpless against bombers. That is, unless you have fighters supporting you.

shoot the bombers before they get to you is the only option then. they die pretty quickly to fire from main guns
