Mongoose
To all those involved with the Lone Wolf gamebooks over at Mongoose, I just wanted to say a big thanks for all your hard work in making these books available again.

Earlier this year I signed up for the Megadeal and currently have Books 1-5. I know there have been some minor issues with some of these, but this has not spoiled the gameplay for me. The books themselves look fantastic, and compared to some of the older versions which I still have, they really do look like 'Collector's Editions'.

Keep up the great work Mongoose. I'm looking forward to receiving the rest of the books over the coming months.

A special thanks to Matt Sprange for keeping us all up-to-date with this series, and thanks also to AquilaSaber for the super work on summarizing the errata. It's been great to have any errors located in one place.

Thanks for this guys, it is always nice to be appreciated, especially when you work so hard on something. Look out for my dedication in book 7, which is at the printers now, Joe very kindly put it in to say thanks for all the hard work too which is really nice... never had a book dedicated to me before... feel special!

Wow that's great.
Not only that but the book it's in - Castle Death has got to be one of the best Lone Wolf books ever written! Not just a dungeon crawl gamebook but the ultimate dungeon crawl. Intelligent, atmospheric, challenging - everything a truly great fantasy needs: 'The Maze' just takes it to another level, er pun intended.
I'm just trying to think who the bonus adventure will feature - Kasin or Tavig? I'm assuming Paido will be Bk 8 (but then that could be Adamas or even Tadia... :o do you think we'll get a mini-adventure with a female character?).
Ah, the wait - at least with Lone Wolf you know it'll be worth it. :)

I can reveal nothing I am afraid, but I will let you in on this one little piece, the Bonus for Castle Death is the work of none other than our own Nick "The Greek" Robinson, so look out for that!

And for book 8, it will be Darren "The Wolf" Pearce, the author of the Sommerlund supplement for the LWRPG that was never published (but that we all hope will be made available with the new version of the RPG). I also know who wrote the bonus adventure for book 6 and which character it features, but I've promised him to not say a word about it in public. However, I can say that he is a member of Tower of the Sun, just like Richard Ford (book 5) and The Wolf (book 8 ). 3 bonus adventures on 8 have been made by members of TotS! :D 8)

Wow - looking forward to those mini-adventures. They have all be excellent, and many taking a completely unique idea. For my twopenneth, I think Tipasa's adventure is the best so far, but the rest are all brilliant too.

I wanna write one!

Me too mate. Sent off my details to Mr. Ford (bow, scrape - just in case he's listening, er reading) last June but not heard anything... yet

I think Ford is no longer with Mongoose now...so does that mean our hopes are gone?

I think he said he'd forward any mails on

He also said that you might not hear back unless you got accepted to potentially write one

Ok, so the thing is to keep waiting...and buying each gamebook.

Sounds like I may not have been accepted then - or will hopefully get to do a Grand Master book (hint hint!) :D

As I said, the minis are one of the main reasons for buying them books - the other is to support Joe Dever and all things Lone Wolf.

Gosh, we're all pretty hard-core fans really. Who would have thought that about what is, essentially, "just" a series of book? Goes to show how well they have been written - and what nice guys we all are!

I'm happy to say that I have received my copy of book 5 today. However, I'm a Mega-Deal buyer, so I should have gotten books 1 to 4 before, right? Well, believe it or not, I'm still waiting for book 4 to arrive! I have already sent a message to the sales department of Mongoose and I'm waiting to hear from them.

Anyways, I can't complain too much: my books have been perfect so far. So thanks Mongoose for the job you're doing. You'll get an even bigger thanks when you'll tell me where my book 4 is.

Don't worry about it - I'm still waiting for book 5 even though I bought the mega deal last year and other people who ordered it this year have the book.

It's just a little weird but I always get them in the end. But I'm patiently waiting for the book errors to be fixed then I'll send mine off for replacements (hopefully!).

Peace,

Incase you missed it, they have decided they will do another run of the books 1-3, so if you send back your defective book 3 you can get a corrected copy

For anyone interested in writing for Lone Wolf, either a Bonus adventure or something for Signs and Portents, please send your details to me as I am the editor for both. Send me an example of your writing and an outline of what you propose and I will be glad to take a look. If you pm me I will give you my email in the office or you can find it in S&P.
