My Really Big Starship

This is the forward third of Deck 14 of my really big starship. It has a total of 28 decks, has around 1 million dtons. The squares are standard personal scale 1.5 meters wide, it has Jump-4 and Maneuver-2. Most of the Fuel is stored in decks 15 through 28, the Jump Drive is in Decks 13 through 1, the Power Plant is in decks 13 through 1. The maneuver drive is in the rear (not shown in this map). It uses lifeboats as lifeboats and for other purposes as well. It has a total of 14 of them. It may have additional vehicles if there is room for them. I made this ship a bit wider than I originally promised. Originally it was going to be around 700,000 dtons. Haven't calculated the current tonnage, but it is a cylinder, and deck 14 is the widest deck on the ship, that should help.

Don't ask me to map this baby :D Very impressive.

I have a more complete map of this level further on down, even numbered the rooms. I am thinking on placing it in the crowd sourced subsector, a map of which is here. and it is found in this thread: http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=104820&p=867267#p867267
I'm placing this ship in the Cyrannus Star System, in the description of the system, I already mentioned the presence of a pirate base. Well this starship is the pirate base, it is a derelict capital starship, it is amazingly old, judging from the micrometeor impacts on its outer surface, it is 152,000 years old give or take a millennium, apparently it was built by humans that did not originate from Earth, some of the pirates with an interest in science did a DNA analysis of the skeletal remains of the humans in this starship, the DNA includes some of the DNA from Earth origin humans, but not all, judging from the evidence, it appears that all the humans died when all the doors and airlocks opened into space venting all the atmosphere of the starship into space, the starship was otherwise undamaged, apparently is was a civilian luxury cruise ship, the Jump Drive was no longer functional when. The pirates have managed to get the maneuver drive and power plants up and running. Some of the pirates are orcs, their homeworld is on one of the unnamed hexes on this map, the orcs are tech level 9, but that didn't stop the pirates from hiring them on as crew. The orcs get a +3 on strength (maximum 18), and a +1 on their other two physical characteristics, and a -1 on intelligence and social standing, and have short range infravision out to 10 meters, they stand between 2 and 3 meters tall, so they typically have to duck when moving through door frames in the starship. There are a lot of planets in the Cyrranus System, all of them reachable by the ship's maneuver drive.

Good heavens . . . what a monstrosity.

So, why isn't that central room with all the pillars the Bridge? More room for a proper captain's Throne.

For the same reason you don't put the cockpit in the center of the plane.
:D

Too funny. As long as we’re at it . . . what about those blue circles at locations 131 and 132? Swimming pools? Public baths? The lair of a dragon turtle or aquatic elves?

They are pools of water, as to their purpose, I haven't yet decided, One school of thought is they are vats were monsters are grown, you can call these the "Random Monster Generators" if you like. The central room with the pillars is actually two levels, the dotted lines indicate where the balcony is, the balcony has a rail with a set of stairs leading up to it, on the upper level balcony, which is 6 meters above the floor, the arched ceiling rises from 9 to 12 meters abouve the lower floor or 3 to 6 meters above the balcony floor, not seen in this level are a set of doors that lead to level 15, which I think is either going to be a flight deck or a greenhouse or park level, haven't decided yet. I could always move the fuel tankage to the back, making the starship longer and use the lower levels for something other than fuel storage. I'm also working on a dual system character sheet, in which I fill in the values for various monsters and I automatically get the equivalent Traveller stats for them, which are mostly characteristic scores and skill levels. I could stretch the starship vertically so we still have room for that upper flight deck with the starships parked inside. Yes I think I will do that, figure out the tonnage later. this starship is a pirates lair among other things. The pirates have to be careful when moving about the ship so they don't fall into pit traps or get eaten by various monsters along the way.

Here are a few more room descriptions:
Room 1: 4 squares by 2½ squares. There is an arch in this room over the doorway, there is a rack of spices along the starboard wall, some cobwebs in the forward port corner of this room, and some claw marks scratched onto the floor.
Room 3: 4 squares by 4 squares. There is a portable generator in the center of this room, a clothes washing machine plugged into it, an engineering toolkit for power plants, and a life sized marble statue of a woman in the forward port corner of the room.

Room 5: 4 squares by 2 squares. There is a spool of cable on the floor, and unidentifiable odor, a winch and pulley in the ceiling and a recess in the wall where there is a sink. An angry looking minotaur charges at you with a greataxe and laser rifle.
