Above are the ships that are finished and based, although Scharnhorst is the only one with a magnetised base so far.

Below is my first based submarine, a type XXI right hand side on the surface, left submerged at periscope depth.

Very good paint job. May I ask, what is the 'magnetism' of the bases concept?

I like to magnetise the bases of my miniatures (by gluing a magnetic strip underneath), because it greatly eases storage and transport (a cookie tin is all you require).

Not a bad idea, my problem is that my painting and modelling area is also my computer desk and I'd really rather not have a large number of magnets next to my computer. :?
