Multiple Speed hits

To be specific (pedantic ? ), you only subtract the highest penalty suffered from your speed but if you repair that hit you'll still be affected by the next highest (or equal) penalty.

Note that if your ship is crippled you half the speed before removing any further penalty which can sometimes immobilise your ship.

The only cumulative penalty is the Targeting hit (-1AD all weapons). Doesn't state it in the rulebooks but it was in Rulesmasters once upon a time.

and several of the larger ships can still be stuck in position from the -4 speed crit, which is a complete arse, it really really is!

We still haven't been playing with the -1 AD Weapons crit being targeted all that often. We forget it. It's devastating to a number of races that depend on a number of guns types/few high quality AD. Just doesn't seem to make sense having a one type of crit stack and another not. But a number of games have rules you have to kick yourself to remember.

The speed crits are not cumulative with each other, you only subtract the worst, although if that one is repaired you still suffer from the next worst. The speed crits are cumulative with half speed from being crippled, though, and the half speed applies first. So a crippled white star with -4 speed goes at (15/2)-4 = 3.5".

To be really pedantic, the weapon arc loss crits are cumulative too... you can lose more than one weapon arc.
