Mongoose News - The Printed Edition of Traveller has Arrived!

The new Traveller Core Rulebook has arrived in our warehouse. Repeat: The new Traveller Core Rulebook has arrived in our warehouse!

This means we have taken it off the pre-order list and are now open for normal business!

(Includes the Referee's Screen as well).

Now, it is currently in our US warehouse, and the chaps there have just been given all the details for US and Canadiam pre-orders - I imagine they will start shipping tomorrow/Monday.

We have also requested stock for us here in the UK, from where all other orders around the world will be dispatched. If the truck driver gets them to the port quick enough, we will see them next week - otherwise it will be early the week after.

We will be dispatching them worldwide as soon as they arrive!

We are also expecting to see the printed editions of High and Dry and Marooned on Marduk in the middle of next month, and Theories of Everything has just been sent to print - the Central Supply Catalogue will be joining it in just 2-3 weeks!

We have lots more planned for the new Traveller, so stay tuned!
 
Could there be an alert for any pre-orders again? Especially core rue books like High Guard, Central Supply Catalog etc. (I tend to pick up the adventures as PDF (although I might change this if there is a box set to put them in).

When can we expect discount codes for the hardcopies?
 
What hdan said. If buyers of the hardback are getting a free PDF, then surely us beta backers who made the whole thing possible should get something off the hard copy?

We sent a voucher out for the POD version, but I am afraid we cannot do the same with the 'proper' printed edition.

Matthew, is there any chance of getting a change-log or errata document for the print version of traveller - I don't especially want to have to work through the hard copy and pdf side-by-side to figure out the changes?

We'll look into this - however, there has been nothing major changed (most of the changes have been the - thankfully few- typos).
 
Sorry if I spam.

On the drivethru .pdf it seems that vehicle weapons table is an old version and not reflecting the actual numbers on Damage.

I notice on the Transit Times table on both the new Traveller and the old one it lists the same transit times for 600k, 900k and 1000k distances for 4G and 5G. I'm assuming that the 5G ones are wrong (they would be the ONLY 3 entries in the entire table that would be identicle to a slower-G version). Anyone know what the proper times should be?

The formula is given on p152. SI units (metres, metre/second2, and seconds) should be used.

The table is a bit garbled. I get these results:

Yeah, but I really suck at maths. lol. Besides, I figured with the official chart there that perhaps someone'd seen an errata or something that corrected it.

Most likely a rounding difference. I rounded 1 G = 9.8 m/s2, it looks like the book uses 1 G = 10 m/s2.

Yeah the differences were very minor, and I treat the table as approximations rather than absolutes. Space travel should be fluid as I would expect things like planetary movements, gravity waves, etc... (not an astrophysicist) would affect things, so I would always tell players "about 1.5 hours" rather than "1 hour 33 minutes" - which is why the slight discrepancies wouldn't bother me as long as I can have a fair estimate I can give them/use.
