Mongoose minis vs ADB minis?

Mongoose
Are the ADB minis different than the ones Mongoose is making or is this like the situation with B5 and AoG where Mongoose started off with the existing minis and then added to it later? I've seen the ADB minis from time to time and was just curious how they compare to the new Mongoose minis. Thanks!

Chris

diferent scale.
and detailing has improved to some extent, at least where adb approve of detailing being added

You can see some comparisons between current Mongoose minis and older ADB minis here: http://www.starfleetgames.com/federation/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=4335 (the second and third posts)

I was very much considering just getting more of the starline 2400 (have about a dozen of them) instead of starline 2500 as I prefer the scale of the 2400 - but the level of detailing is way different - and actually there are some relative size issues with the starline 2400. I also noticed the starline 2400 didn't seem to be significantly cheaper - but maybe that was just because the starline 2500 box sets are so aggressively priced.

Does the 2500 mean anything? Are the minis roughly 2500 scale? I like Mongoose's (the 2500 I assume) a lot better! And why would more details be a bad thing?

The numbers don't relate to scale - and I actually meant that the detail on the 2500 was so much better than the 2400 I had to go with the 2500. :D

I don't think there is a relevance to 2500. It just follows on from 2400 and 2300 series of ADB's minis. I don't know whether there was any significance to those.

Where I work, we use and advertise the Digital 8000. And 8000 bears no relationship to anything whatsoever.

Thanks. I just know that 2500 scale is a common scale of Star Trek ship models, both plastic and resin, as is 1400, 1000, and 350. I didn't think I was that lucky that the ships would be 2500 scale since I actually have a few that could be used with this game that are 2500 scale. Now I wonder how the 2500 scale models relate to the Mongoose minis lol.
