Mongoose Doubles Tournament - March 29th

YES! When a ship is crippled it can fly to the edge of the board, and tag your ally's ship on. Crippled White Star? No problem, tag on a Sharlin!!!

So can you fly on when the ref isnt looking and double team your opponent?

or maybe start a scrap with the off the board ship when the ref isn't looking?

IF YA SSSMMMEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL..................
WHAT THE NARN ARE COOKING. . . ..

I guess it'll be something like 1 war each so 1 armaggedon.

But there are important differences between 2 fleets of 1 War point each and 1 fleet of 1 Armageddon point, for instance you would be able to field 2 admirals, one per fleet, similar to the 2 Command Squad option in the BF:Evo Doubles tourney.

That is if you choose to use admirals. I just don't feel there worth it.

A bigger difference between 1x Arma and 2x War is that you can get 16 Skirmish ships for 2x War, but only 12 for 1x Arma.

would you have to team up with natural allies?? for instance Shadows and Minbari could not ally ?
Hmm, strikes me as a tad restrictive. EA could theoretically ally with almost anyone (depending on the year) while other races could find it much harder to find allies. I think it would be better to simply to simply allow all combinations rather than create a banned allies list.

For one thing you could get people arguing over fluff interpretations. Narn and Centauri are not natural allies but should they be allowed to ally in early 2262? Both were members of the ISA and the Drakh had not yet really spread trouble. So you could imagine ships from both races serving alongside (albeit probably rather tensely).

A tournement is there to get together and have fun with a day of frantic gaming. Imposing restrictions that could be open to argument would do nothing to add fun to the day. Say you have 2 friends with only 1 fleet each who want to come along. Should they be banned just because their fleets would not normally fight alongside?

How about crazy alliances such as Shadows vs EA Crusade where the ships don't even exist at the same time? :P
Or Dilgar/ISA, same issue.

Come on Mongoose, let's have some details so us hungry players can sign up and start plotting our killer combo fleets!

thats the thing, you will get killer combos as certain fleets really cancel out the weaknesses of other fleets.

Gaim and ISA comes to mind. Both are very powerful as it is but both also cancel out the other's weaknesses.
