modern/postwar suggestions for the s&s models 15+ club

hi all,
the success of our 15+ club recently has brought in a lot of suggestions for new vehicles, some of which have had more than 1 person asking for the same things.
i have decided therefore to list the most popular vehicles on this and other forums.
some of these vehicles have almost reached thier magic 15 status while others need a few more guaranteed sales to get us started on them.
i will list the vehicle, scale and no's so far sold, so even if you only want one of a particular type, that may well put us up to the 15+ we need.

20mm, chinese type 99 mbt, (for battlefield evolution games) 6 requested so far
20mm, chinese version of hummer 4x4, (as above) 4 requested
20mm, dutch lynx, (m113 1/2) 3 requested
20mm, south african olifant 1a mbt, 2 requested
20mm, south african olifant 1b mbt, 10 requested
20mm, south african caspir anti mine apc 8 requested
20mm, rhodesian crocodile armoured truck 10 requested
20mm, usa lmtv 4x4 gs truck 5 requested
20mm, usa fmtv 6x6 gs truck 2 requested
20mm, german weisel tow and 20mm armed afv 6 requested
20mm, russian btr-t (t55 based apc) 3 requested
20mm, 2s19 mtsa 152mm conversion, (turret for revel/mars t80) 5 requested
20mm, usa m1117 armoured car, (like v150 commando) 2 requested
and in 28mm, (1/60th scale)
28mm, cougar mrap 4x4 3 requested
28mm, cougar mrap 6x6 3 requested
so as you can see quite a list, with some almost reaching the magic 15+ number needed,

Hmm I would take the following:
PLA (China):
2x the EQ-2050 (the TY-90 air defence system variant) - aka "20mm, chinese version of hummer 4x4"
2x Type 96 MBT
3x Type 99 MBT (you already know that Shaun!) :wink:

EDIT:
I would also take 3x Russian BTR-T

Russian Federal Army: BMP-3

That's all I can really think of, if a kit for the BMP-T is already available. I know most of the Russian aircraft can be had in 1/72 scale.

One more thing:
Shaun lives up to his promises, 4x 20mm Chinese PLA WZ 551 are already on my painting table!
They are exactly 1/72 (I have measured them) and look very convincing!
He is fast and reliable!

I don't want to send in an email to you just yet as I've yet to source all the other stuff I'd need (mainly infantry, got some Liberation stuff on order to see if I can convert their French into ersatz PLA) and don't want to end up with half an army I can't complete :wink: I will list my probables for now.

Pretty much certain I'd be going for PLA and would need 3+ Type 99s and 4-6 WZ551s, plus at least one EQ-2050/TY-90 ADS and a couple of NORINCO FAVs. The other force would be CIS preferably, with USMC as a second choice. I'd need either 3-6 BTR-Ts or BMP-3s and 3 MBTs, preferably the T-95 if you do some. USMC would be 4 LAVs and 2 LAV-ATs plus a couple of Abrams and several Hummer types. If you did EFVs I'd go for 2 or 3 rather than the LAVs.

Exactly how does your 15+ list work ? If someone requests a model do you just get in touch when you get enough queries to produce them and ask for a firm order or do you go "they're ready, send me some dosh" Presuming the former, but wouldn't want to waste your time.

hi ian, we never see an enquiry as a waste of time, but i will try to explain how the 15+ clubs works so far.
you may decide to fight a new period or scale after reading an article or a new rule set comes out and then, as all gamers do, is look around to see what is available figure and vehicle wise in each scale, to enable you to decide on the wether to collect it.
you may find that a criticle vehicle is not available in the preferred scale and as you only want 3 or so scratchbuilding is an option, but if you are no good at it then you may be put off, so this is where we step in, if enough of you enquire and commit to buy, even only a few each than we will soon reach our magic 15+, (which we consider the minimum needed to make it worthwhile), this has enabled the chinese wz551 apc to be made, after a comment on what is not available by a fellow gamer called
'agis', although we did not have 15 fully commited sales at the time, the mere mention of us doing one brought us to an even bigger customer base and we now have more orders than the initial 15 needed.
all you need do is send us an email telling us what and how many needed, we then let you know when ready, and the price and if you are still interested we then cast them off for you.
we at our club do not play 'battlefield evolution' so we would not have even considered doing any modern chinese vehicles, but this is where these forums are great is that you can speak directly to us and tell us what you need.

you will see that the prices are not too high and any new vehicle will be priced at the same sort of levels, we would not expect the average 20mm vehicle to be over £15.00 ea, so please let us know what you need or want as unlike some other trades we do actualy listen, we also have a
