Minbari vs. Vorlon Battle Report

Just fought the next battle in our campaign (1st edition still), a Minbari Convoy Escort attcked by Vorlon. The Vorlon had 2 destroyers and a light cruiser (we realized they had more points than they should have about half way into the battle) vs 2 Sharlin and 2 tigaras (we used a replacement figure for these). You can check out the battle report at

We still don't know how anyone ever wins the ambushing side...the convoy has NEVER lost a battle yet. Too easy to spread em out, no chain reactions. Minbari are even harder, that damn cloak was a beatch!! lol. Well enjoy the report folks.

please do and let me know how it turns out. i've been told by others that the convoy never wins...thas not how ours turns out...convoy ALWAYS SLAUGHTERS the ambusher!!

If it's equal FA, then yeah. The attacking fleet has to kill ships that don't fire back while being fired on, and get away. Very difficult.

yes...but its not equal points...the attacker gets 3 to the defenders 5+convoy ships...VERY difficult.

That does sound difficult. Vorlons seem to be the best suited... or maybe the Narn... more weapons mean more chance to destroy multiple targets.

Vorlon were tough to use...just one weapon on three ships was rough...can only take out 2-3 per turn, meanwhile your getting hammered by the escort ships...beams make it VERY dangerous to ignore the escorts...in our case we couldn't get locks on the minbari escorts so it was a losing battle pretty early on.

Kill the escorts first.........It makes it a much easier scenario.

that was a goal early on, but after wasting fire opportunities with two ships in the first turn, we decided to hit and run, but we couldn't get out quick enough and vorlon started falling everywhere.

Stealth is the bane of Vorlons.

You don't have enough ships to waste time getting the initial hit, and you really want to fight from range to keep your arc clean longer. Add in no scout and the moderate speed on your fighters and it gets hard to penetrate stealth.

You do get the initial plus one, but still hard to pull off using any of the tactics you'd like to use.
