Minbari vs. Brakiri help

Greetings,

It may be viewed as 'cheesy and wrong', but at the end of the day any fleet can attempt to use this tactic, apart from the pak'ma'ra, Vorlons and the Raiders (one minuite, let me check... Yup they have nothing with the Scout trait). The only difference is who can pull it off with accuracy. Vessels with the advanced jump engines are much more reliable for a 'Black Star' tactic than one with standard engines.
If this tactic does get picked up by other people in your group, fair enough. You do need to roll to be able to do this so the older/better tech races will end up being able to pull this off more successfully. But the people who are getting hit by this are going to come up with a tactic to stop this from becoming as lopsided as it is to begin with.

You also have an added benefit of having a jump point open within the enemy lines that you can have your reinforcements come through. A Sharoos followed by two Troglians a turn later... *shudder*

Khib Yusa

ONLY ships with AJP can do JPBombing - if you have not got it- can't do it

Shadows and Ancients can't do it

:)

very little you can do - especially as the ships may not even come through - Blue Stars.............

Look, it's cheesy. It was a unique occurence in the B5 universe, and it was a pre-planned ambush that had every chance to fail if the EA force hadn't taken the bait.

Just like Sheridan's nuclear games, it shouldn't be available in normal games. It should be a scenario-specific rule.

Well at least if they don't come through they either don't take any more part in the game, or have to come through another ship's JP

Chill - it actually happened in the show and in the game it isn't overpowering (unless the enemy makes a mistake), just take it as people learned that it was possible after seeing others do it and in larger, pre-planned conflicts it is occasionally seen.

Problem with Brakiri is that they've got damn solid ships, and will generally sit on close blast doors every turn quite happily, especially with those Graviton lances to throw around.

Go fishing for criticals with as many long range neutron lasers as you can, and pray they don't see past your stealth.

you can always rely on your stealth as most other Minbari players do. I rarely see the Sharlin in Minbari fleets anymore, just Sharoos and Sharkans.

Can't imagine why - the Sharlin is still a better all round ship, same as it ever was.
You loose too much in taking the variants for too little gain.

Same with the Tinashi.
