CHEESE!!

do we reaally want to destroy Newbies confidence by making them face 5 whitestars ;-)

Iconic ships from the show, so yes we do.

One last thing: Those of you making your own way to the venue - when you get to Stoney Lane you're looking for a pair of metal gates with trees to either side. The gates are covered in black chain-link fence material. There is no sign and you cannot see the building from the road. There are trees all long the hedge to either side. All you'll see is the gates.

I won't be playing with them (I'll be using a mixed EA Third Age fleet so long as I get them finished in time) so them being a good fleet won't exactly harm a n00b's feelings on the game :)

Cheers, 'furies I may need although I aim to have a couple of Omegas, a couple of Novas and an Avenger done tonight and have several Hyperions, a couple of Olympuses and a couple of Hermes already. I'll bring counters for the excess fighters either way, just in case.

So annoyed I couldn't make it, especially as the mate I was helping to move had a mix up with the van, so it's not happening until tomorrow and I have only found out an hour ago.

So, how did it go?

We got five bodies in the end. Triggy, Hiff, Black Omega (as was), myself and my very close friend Aimee who's new to the game. I played an intro game with her while the other three guys had a three-way battle. It was a pretty good day, the venue is fine and the cost is reasonable. The more people turn up the less each person pays.

Hopefully next time more of you will make it, and we can look at some more terrain and more games happening.

A big thank you to the guys that did turn up. Hiff especially came a long way to be there and none of the guys really knew where they were going. Next time it will be easier, you've done it once!

As Laurel Takashima would have said, the Midlands Gaming Club is open for business. Hope to see more of you there next time.

Hey LDD thanks for organising the venue! I had a most enjoyable afternoon's gaming. Thank you too to Triggy and Hiffano for an interesting game.

Hiffano - I'll use my Minbari to pick on Triggy next time :D

No thanks needed. As I explained in the pub, it was money where mouth is time... :P

Thanks for the drink. It was good to meet you. Hope to see you all there again next time, and plenty more along too...

I'll gladly come for a drink next time (that's surely half the fun).

Also with a bit more organisation, we'll be able to get games going straight away and therefore have more time! It was still fun though and I'd encourage anyone else interested to come along.

We can always book the venue for an extra hour, but of course the cost goes up if we do that. Hopefully we'll have a better idea of who's coming next time so we can organise games beforehand and get going straight away.

Any idea of the next date? I know it may be to soon, but the sooner I know, the sooner I can book the time with the other half.

Don't want to miss the next one.

I'll know in a week or so, it's dependant on my working schedule. I should get the new rota next week, so I'll know then when I have a saturday free to set this up again.
