Midlands Gaming Club - Options

All being well I should be able to make it down, I'll have a confirmation for you by tomorrow.

Just out of interest how long are you planning on holding the gaming for, and what sized games are we looking at. I think 5points of Raid can be nice for quick games... also let's me try out my new Minbari list I've been thinking of.

It's fine to advertise elsewhere, of course. The more the merrier.

I'm looking at booking the hall for four hours the first time out, 1400-1800. Paly any size game you want as long as you can find an opponent to accomodate you. I'll be running demos for a couple of people, so if anyone can bring spare fleets down, that'd be handy.

I can certainly bring a couple of 5 FAP Raid fleets if necessary.

29th is a no for me, I agreed a couple of weeks ago to help a mate move house that weekend.

I have posted the details and alink to this thread on the UKCORD forum as there are a few people that play the game onthere that may be interested. It's the only forum I visit that allows posting of other games I'm afraid.

Have you thought about making an announcement on http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/

There may well be people that visit that sight that may come too.

Sorry you can't make it, buddy. I have a bit of interest already, so anything else you can drum up with that ad will be great. If things go well I'll get ads up on other sites too. Any of your buddies able to make it?

I thought I recognised the name from there - though not a member now as stopped playing Confrontation really - although just picked up Privateers hordes which looks really good :)

Don't play Conf anymore?

We have child boards for loads of other games on there, it's not just Conf anymore. Pop over and take a look. Hordes/warmachine has it's own area now!!

@ Lord David.....

Not sure yet, I have only just posted it today. We will see.

i think table top gaming news is a good way to go. I know one of the writers form there, he's a regular on the UKCORD forum. I know they get a lot of people reading it.

I'm, good to go, I'll have my Minbari fleet with me, Hope the venue isn't too far from the Derby Train station... I don't face getting lost down south

You can jump on a bus or walk into the city centre, then jump on another bus out to the venue. I'll get directions for you all when I actually book the venue, hopefully tomorrow. Either place is in easy walking distance of bus routes.

Depending on timings I'll be happy to give a lift from the station. I can pick up so that we'll arrive at the venue at the expected start time...

I've got the venue booked. It's 66th Derby (1st Spondon) Scout HQ, Stoney Lane, Spondon, Derby. I will get a proper address and post code for those using the AA or similar to travel.

For those coming on the train, take yourselves from the train station to the city centre (head out of the doors marked "city centre" and walk down Midland Road, past the Midland Hotel on your left until you reach the junction with London Road. The Derbyshire Royal Infirmary is ahead of you. Turn right and walk down London Road into the city centre. Be careful of the construction work going on) and get the Spondon Flyer bus from the temporary bus station outside the council house. If anyone needs more directions please contact me.

That should give you a map of Spondon. Stoney Lane is clearly visible. No postcode, I'm afraid - the Scout centre apparently doesn't have one. Those of you who are driving will need to navigate the old-fashioned way.

Ok, for some reason the URL isn't working right. Copy and paste into your browser to get the right page.

Cheers, see you there.

Any particular fleets you'd like me to bring? I was thinking of EA for myself, and bring along Minbari and League (Abbai/pak'ma'ra). Anything else wanted?

Bring anything and everything you can carry, Triggy. Every fleet you bring is one to lend to the n00bs. Might need your expertise for intro games too. If you have any terrain, bring that as well.

Anyone that needs meeting, let me know tomorrow or I won't know where and when to look for you. Anyone that needs more directions, ask tomorrow or I won't have time to get them for you. Basically, tomorrow is your last chance!

I'm gonna bring Crusade EA, Brakiri and Narn. so we should have a good selection of fleets available
