OK, so we've been going back and forth with our games and we're back to SST. We have 2 MI players and then there's me with Bugs and Skinnies (which I love to play btw). We've played numerous times and I thought we, for the most part, had it down (we forgot bits n pieces sometimes). We forgot how fun this game really is
So I came across MS's Big Red One Company in the old SnP 27 and now I think we've been creating units wrong.
He stated:
So far, I have five full squads in this company which will serve to fill out the first platoon and make a start on the second. Incidentally, there has been some chat on our forums about how many squads ‘officially’ makes up a platoon. Well, officially, a platoon consists of 4 squads, 1 NCO and 1 Lieutenant. However, we have built a great deal of variation into the army list, allowing you to field larger ‘reinforced’ platoons or forces joined with allied platoons without breaking the rules.
Now, I recalled reading/remembering that it was 2 squads per platoon so I went and dug back into both the Old rules and the MI Army book. I guess never really read it correctly because now I'm seeing:
"Platoon is 2 or more sqds and a NCO though they can swell to include another NCO, LT and a further 4 units."
Has anyone else ever misread that?
We were only giving ourselves 2 squads per platoon-man do i feel dumb.
