Well, it's due for a "March 2010" release and the month is almost over so it can't be too much longer.Cyphr said:Just a friendly bump.
I'm wondering like others the status on Merchant Prince

So.... in the interest of continueing this thread, I see from the preview that we have a "Junk Dealer" career complete with specialties in selling secondhand goods, refurbishing (selling repaired machines,) and yardwork (stripping junkers for parts.) So, who plans on finding some way to use that in their games?

Watto, from the first two Star Wars prequels?
I'm not familiar with that version of Traveller, care to elaborate?SSWarlock said:The Junk Dealer career would also dovetail nicely for anyone wanting to emulate a Vargr following the "Scrounger" occupation from MegaTraveller's "Vilani and Vargr" supplement. IMO, at least.
So I gather, however what about the "Vilani and Vargr" supplement in particular? Other then including a Vargr career that was also in the Mongoose Vargr supplement, what are the similarities?SSWarlock said:MegaTraveller (a.k.a. "MT") is the version that followed Classic Traveller and in some minds (like mine) has some of the best supplemental material for Trav ever published.

Is this true? Is it really going to be that long?
Didnt seem like it since he said it was coming back soon from the printers.

Techno-Guru said:Although which site did you get that off of? Amazon UK or US? I can't find it even for preorder on Amazon US and I got a gift certificate I'm eager to spend.
Dark Lord Skippy said:Amazon US. Actually got an email from them telling me I could pre-order (based on my previous purchases) and did so about 2-3 weeks back.
Techno-Guru said:So what do you plan on using Merchant Prince for Lord Skippy?
By the way, how much detail can we expect from Merchant Prince? All I have is GT: Far Trader, and while I know the book is renowned for its near-textbook quality treatment of economics, I'm not sure if that's QUITE as far as I want to go with a game. Somewhere between Far Trader and what's in the core rulebook would be perfect!
Sounds interesting. Personally, I'd probably use the supplement for my own campaign setting. I spend a fair bit on business, trade, and characters involved in economic endeavors to fund their personal crusades.Dark Lord Skippy said:Currently developing a campaign in my own version of the Ley sector. Although I already have a ton of older Traveller material, I can always use more source material and idea fodder.
Yeah, I think I know how that feels. I only have Biotech and Ultratech and I remain surprised at the amount of ground they cover.Gravmonkey said:Omg that takes me back. SJGames are notorious for giving you more than you could possibly fit into a single game. Or two. Or four. I used Gurps for many years until I could no longer take the bookkeeping.
