merchant Prince

Any Chance of a little teensie sneek peak at Merchant Prince...

I promise to be good....I will only cheat my cust....I mean I will only sell my
goods at a Fair market price as determined by the laws of supply and demand.:)

And any stories of my passing off cheap Vargr knockoff robotic parts as cutting edge Darrian stuff to the sword worlder's is purely rumor, libel and
slander, unless you can substantiate it. In that case, I go to go, lift off schedules and all that you know.....

As an addendum, maybe a preview or a bone on covered topics would be nice. The write up on the product page interests me (ie "...adds a whole new trading option for those wealthy enough to attempt it, allowing them to build a huge trading empire that spans the stars. ").

I'm more curious about the new ships and expanded careers however rules for the PCs own shipping company might be interesting.

Preview imminent!
Emperor be- whoops, wrong RPG setting. :P
But seriously though, thank you very much. My inner Ferengi is very interested in seeing what this adds to the Space Trader aspect of Traveller.

By the way, how much detail can we expect from Merchant Prince? All I have is GT: Far Trader, and while I know the book is renowned for its near-textbook quality treatment of economics, I'm not sure if that's QUITE as far as I want to go with a game. Somewhere between Far Trader and what's in the core rulebook would be perfect!

I've never read Far Trader but I've read reviews commenting about its extensive nature. I imagine or at least hope that Merchant Prince covers enough to make things fun without covering so much that the players spend more time balancing their checkbooks then going out and exploring the frontier.
All in all, a supplement I will still probably want for myself even though the rest of my group is not interested...

As always, we have concentrated on the fun, rather than providing a text book on economics.

But one mans table is another mans fun.

What would trading be without pouring over beauties such as this and then roleplaying the 2+ hour haggling session for better shipping terms. At least a set of rules to roll for the terms (similar to Mercenaries contract system) will be needed.

Well, there should be no reason why you can't extrapoliate the tables to the desired complexity. I just know that I'd be the only one in my group that would have any chance of finding M.U.L.E with dice to entertaining. The others are all of the "earning their wealth dodging bullets and spending it all on ammo and armor repair" camp.

Well, if it's part of a grand quest to sabatoge a evil megacorporation exploiting billions with imperialistic economics and pure, unbridled greed then it certainly will be fun. Especially if the two hour long haggling session is spent with the merchant PC negotiating over the price to ship the one critical item the local branch of said Big Bad Megacorp needs to repair damage that secretely the other members of the party accomplished then... yeah that would be extremely fun. =P

Note to self: Add more smilies when being sarcastic. MUCH more smilies!

Internet sarcasm is always wasted on me no matter what you do. Eh, at least there's something the merchant PC can do for the party... sit down with the badguys and make them pay the party to repair the damage they secretly caused. :P

Other than that, you'll be seeing a veritable deluge of books from us in the next few weeks. All of April's books are already in the warehouse (and so will be in shops in April), along with all the other books you have been waiting for from March! In particular, look out for the new Arms & Equipment and Monster Coliseum supplements for RuneQuest II.

Doesn't specify Merchant Prince but it does mention all for March are there.
