MC: a few questions and some stats needed

Right, first things first. I know some of you people have come up with stats for MC so I was wondering if I could trouble you for some input on a couple of notable aircraft:

1) the Harrier GR7
2) the Tornado GR4

- well, just points values and weapon load outs really.

second, I have a few queries that have arisen over a few games now:
1) the Stinger - shouldn't it have multihit? I mean, Should a plane or helicopter be able to survive even one of these puppies?

2) the Tunguska - the chainguns aren't AA weapons, and I would've assumed that they are.

3) In air movement, at what point can the plane make a turn. at any point?

4) the SA - 18 Grouse is a man portable AA missile but not listed as one shot. Is this correct?

Not that I like the idea of the Gauntlet scenario and air support or anything... but hey!

This is the current statline for the Harrier in my WIP Falklands book:

Harrier Jump jet – 250 points
Type Harrier
Size 4
Move V/STOL, Cruise
Close Combat 4XD10
Target 6+
Save 5+/4+
Kill 7+
Traits Hits/3

Unit: Harrier with 2x30mm ADEN cannon (FaF), 2 Sidewinder Missiles (FaF), and 2 1,000 lb bombs

Fire-linked: Both ADEN cannons must use the same fire zone.
Limited Range: A Harrier that leaves the table can only return on a roll of a 5+.

Ordnance: Up to two bombs can be dropped with every Shoot(bomb) action. Both sidewinders can be swapped for 2 more bombs for +X points. A third bomb can be added for Y points.

Options: Either the sidewinders or bombs can be replaced with drop tanks for +Z points, this allows the harrier to return to the table as normal

Weapon 30mm ADEN cannon
Range 30”
Damage 2xD6+2
Traits Auto, Piercing/1

Weapon AIM-9 Sidewinder
Range 60”
Damage D10+1
Traits AA-only, Piercing/2, One-Shot

Weapon 1,000lb bomb
Range Dropped
Damage D10+3
Traits Lethal Zone/3”, Multihit, One-Shot, Piercing/3

As for your questions, 1, 2 and 4 are quite possibly typoes - especially the Tunguska's cannons. As for 3, I'm pretty sure aircraft can only turn at the end of a move action, but i'd have to check.

Also look at the EVOCOMMAND site (links stickied above) for the aircraft stats (from the Unconventional Warfare section, Pieta & Sgt. Scream's cards), don't know if the Harrier and Tornado are in their British list, but the AV8B is in their USMC one. Alternative weapons loads to Lorcan's.

1: I don't think that any infantry-carried SAM is guaranteed to bring down a modern helo or attack plane with one hit. Except perhaps the Starstreak missile. I'm sure it's quite possible however. Probably a gameplay decision, otherwise Stingers would be far more costly. I house rule that any air unit that takes a Kill without being destroyed is damaged badly enough that it has to bug out or land as soon as possible (and then can't return or take off again).

2: Got to be a typo, the Gepard's guns are AA so why not the Tunguska's ?

3: Aircraft turns are made at the end of their move only.

4: I'm sure it's correct, most AA and AT missile teams would carry several reloads. Certainly enough for your normal MC game.

Thank you kindly :) Gives me some food for thought anyway.

I look forward to seeing the Falklands War supplement. I know of a good 15mm (though the models are so big I'd call them 20mm) supplier named Shieldwall games which I've been dying to find an excuse to buy from. I was actually toying with the idea of getting some models to stage a hypothetical second invasion post 2016 or so when the Royal Navy gets to send Joint Strike Fighters to sea. But the original would be far more fun IMHO!

As for your answer on the SA18 - Grouse, does that mean that US army stinger teams should not be one shot?

Think that was a typo, non of the other MANPADS have One-Shot and they're pretty similar otherwise. Looks like the Stinger stats might have been copy-and-pasted over from the German list which has them on their attack helicopter (and so should be One-Shot there).

the best way to fix it would be to give the SAM team a trait that lets them ignore one-shot on stingers, like the TOW carrier variant of the M2 Bradley...
