Why is the 40mm cannon more powerful than the main gun of of the challenger?

Which 40mm cannon you would be refering to?

Warrior only rolls d10's with no modifier. Challenger rolls d10+4. Damage result 1-10 vs 5-14. Clearly challenger main gun beats it hands down.

according to this it rolls 2 d10. is it a typo?

Yes. So it can kill 2 models but then again challenger could hit more than 2 with it's extra explosion.

The gun in warrior fires rapid stream of small-calibre shots good at dealing with infantry and lightly armoured vechiles. Challenger fires invidual rounds for BIG penetration power.

Note that you don't add the 2 dice together :D

The real reason is because if you make a overpowered under costed item, or as in CCGs a broken card, the company can expect big sales for that item. They do it on purpose.

Lost much faith with MP when they came out with this model.

The real reason

Uuuh what the heck you are talking about? There cannot be any reason(real or fake) because the 40mm gun is WEAKER than the one in challenger.

There's no reason for something that doesn't exists!

Or do you seriously claim the 2d10 are added together for one mega piercing shot

175 points for a vehicle with armor equal to older MBTs, also a troop carrier, that fires 2D10 each action. Yea, I mean what I said, OVERPOWERED, and UNDERCOSTED for what it does. Only reason I can see for such a move by MP is what I stated. Pure Sales. (the CCG effect)

Screw the comparison to the Challenger.

ill repost my reply to this from evocommand.
well, before you say the warrior is the be all and end all have a look at a comparble unit.

in this case ill use the WZ-551 IFV

Its 25pts less…..

You gain with the WZ-551 IFV:

• It carries more models (2 more)
• Moves 2” faster (scary with a command squad :o )
• Its better in CC

But you use to the Warrior with:

• Target and kill is higher (by one)
• The main gun is better (2xD10 vs 2xD6+2)

Personally I don’t see the problem, if anything the WZ-551 is a hell of a APC. Also in order to take the warrior you also more than likely have to take a 160pts infantry squad with it which you could see it an inflation to its points cost ;) so I don’t think that MGP is favouring the British army on this one.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how the WZ-551 and Warrior stack up against the EFV (or if you ever get it, the LAV-25) when we find out its stats…..

Screw the comparison to the Challenger.

Going from a kill of 10 to 11 does make a fair bit of a difference, I am sure there will be other weapons coming into the game that get a D10 with no modifiers. Also there are already a couple of weapons in the game that do D10+2 which can kill a 10+ vehicle in cover but not a 11+.

Then there is the difference in the main guns, 2xD10 is great for somethings but its not as good as a D10+3 for other jobs.

I would say the Warrior is costed right when compared the majority of other vehicles in the game.

However if you where to argue that the Type 99 is over priced or under powered I would agree with you.
