May 1st, Traveller Day: MAYDAY! MAYDAY!

CyborgPrime

Cosmic Mongoose
Hi!

Traveller RPG Headquarters on FB is planning some fun stuff for "Traveller Day". That's on May 1st (MAYDAY! MAYDAY!).

I'm excited to announce I have lined up some interviews with personalities from the Traveller publishing world, including our keynote speaker, Mr. Marc Miller creator of Traveller, plus other Indie publishers.

We are also giving out prizes from Mongoose and other sci-fi gaming publishers.

Some publishers will be sponsoring special Traveller Day sales, and more.

Come to the Event Page for more info.

Hope you can join us!

mayday mayday this is rulebook beowulf ... inconsistencies rising, typos increasing ...

On a more serious note, I wish you all the best with this, and look forward to seeing the product.

I won't be there because it's facebook but I might well buy it if the editing is good. I've recovered from my MegaTraveller mixed-up-tables PTSD.

You mentioned Prizes :-)

How?

Are there competitions or are they being given away randomly to people during the event?

FB still tracks non-logged in users. For example if a site (that isn't FB) has a "like button" then the script for that like button sends the IP address and certain other information back to FB when it's displayed (not pressed) - the image to draw that button comes directly from FB, after all. We have FB "null routed" in DNS so if I visit your FB page, it'll just say the site can't be reached/is down.

Alternately, block scripts from FB.

That's easier to setup for sure, and that's important for some users. It is less effective though.

Member #1000 to the group gets a prize, as does a random member from the group (except admins and staff).

In addition, there will be a Mayday prize winner as well.

We usually draw randomly from our FB group, but sometimes we do "door prizes" for "attending" events.

Mayday! Mayday!

I forgot to mention: in addition to the Mayday prizes, TRPGHQ is giving out 2 prize bundles to celebrate crossing the 1000 member mark.

One bundle will go to member #1000, an identical bundle will go to a member randomly drawn from the members list (member #1000, and TRPGHQ staff are not qualified to win the random drawing).

Good luck!

Just updated the Event Schedule to include the broadcast times of our live discussion panel and recorded interviews.

Marc Miller sat with me for a 1.5-hour interview - pretty much the high point of my gaming life.

Yeah, I'm a nerd.

Event Videos Uploaded
If you missed the live event, you can catch up tonight at your leisure.
I have uploaded the Discussion Panel, Interview with Omer G. Joel, and Interview with John Watts, they are scheduled to go live in less than an hour (at 6pm MST).
If you subscribe to the channel you will get a notification when the shows go live.
I am processing Marc Miller's interview for broadcast on YouTube now - it's an hour and a half long so it will take a little time to upload.

You can find the channel using the YouTUbe keyword 'cyborgprime':
