Maximus is one hard ship

Actually it's not that bad of a ship LDD. It is speed 10 so it can get there pretty quickly. It is Hull 6 so it is hard to hit. Has an interceptor 1 to help with survivability. While it only has single damage weapons, it throws a lot of dice. Good Vorlon Killer.

Hey,

I like this ship a lot. It does play a bit of a sacrificial role in my fleet but, they do regularly survive to fight another day. Given, it's weapons are somewhat limited, usually I'll move the "Max" first to allow the real killers of the fleet a better chance of gaining optimal firing position.

It's a defensive ship, though. More of a monitor or escort than true combat unit.

That said, I might try using them more often. 10AD TL is the same as the Primus' front battery, plus AF weapons, on an expendable hull. Hmm...

The Centauri Republic is too vast to govern with kindness...

I've pretty much switch to using these nasty little guys almost exclusively as a skirmish choice. The one thing I have noticed is that the Anti-Fighter weapons are so weak they are barely able to take out any fighters.

I think this is a great ship for low scenarios, but it gets worse as the rate goes high, where it´s easier to destroy them just before they act.

At certain situations it excels, like a low rate ambush (in both sides). Last weekend I had to fight one of these in an ambush and I was not able to damage it seriously.

Maneuver to shield them? Against shadows and mimbari perhaps, I think.

Burger, your a man after my own heart. Thank goodness you didn't give him a straight red or there might have been a protest or worse....a riot.

I love seeing a little soccer (football) thrown around herre and there.

Kudos on the reply.

It's good to see im not the only one makes that mistake. Go the the mimbari
Using the maximus to shield protects the primus from annoying crits. Keep that 6ad beam firing every turn and you can't lose.
