mass drivers and planet killers

Mongoose
The planet killer is classed as immobile. Now in those missions where it gets to move is it still classed as immobile because of its size?

If so my many mass drivers will be much fun.

Anyone know?

Yeah it says in armageddon that they are classed as immobile but in some scenarios they will move 6" or so. This had me puzzled as to classifications for weapons that can be used on immobile targets as in the Dilgar fleet list book. I guess clarity with 2nd E will be forthcoming soon enough.

It's perfectly clear already.

Mass drivers can only be used on a target that hasn't moved.

Obviously a planet killer moving towards a planet has moved, and therefore cannot be targeted.

Not sure how your getting confused here?

The confusion was simply about possibilities implied by the term immobile as a designation for a vessel that can move. What did that mean regarding a vessel with a weapon that can only be targeted at "immobile" vessels. Does the shadow cloud lose that designation if it moves or is it a kind of designation because of the nature of the vessel etc. Like the minor linguistic difference, which means a lot in rule terms, between things that effect a "Heavy Tank Company" vs a "Guards Heavy tank company" in flames of war etc.

The question came up whether the rules could be interpreted that way so why not put it up on the forum to find out how legit it was.
