Marine infantry models in future waves.

Will we see any improvements on marine infantry for the upcoming stinger teams and other future marine units like the Talon command squad? Will they have more details like pouches as well as better painjobs? I'd also really like to see more 'shooting' poses, as well as 'crouching while shooting' poses and definatly a prone pose. I mean I like playing as USMC but the basic infantry models really really need improvements and having improved models on future release will help as I could use the newer models to replace individual figures in my wave 1 infantry squad. This is what I'm already doing with my Brits, half of the members in my brit squads are from the Wave 2 command sections.

I'm REALLY hoping the snipers are prone.

Yeah, and I'm also kinda hoping they're not all in Ghille suits. I mean it looks cool and all but not really helpful in today's urban combat enviroment. That way we can use these units as normal infantry.

Maybe they'll be dressed as mailboxes and trash cans.

QFT!

The silliest figure by far in this game is the SAS Sniper with a .50 cal, bipod extended, in a fully erect stance. I wish to see someone hold this pose long enough to complete a ready action and their arms not be jello by the time they're ready to shoot. Those .50s are not exactly a bag of marshamallows; they are quite heavy and not designed to be fired from the standing position.

Which is why I will replace his head with that of a normal Brit infantry's and then replace his .50 cal with the minimi para. I would then have a brand new Infantry squad machine gunner.

The poses are abstract, if you have a sniper lying prone, then he won't be able to draw LOS from the model to any target the other side of the wall he's prone behind. Yes it would look cooler, but the in game effects would be annoying.

Next you'll be saying, how can my guys move 5 inches, there legs are in a fixed position

Well LOS is the weakest aspect of this game system.

I'd rather have prone sniper poses, and a better LOS system. MPs LOS system sucks BIG.

Humm, let me re-phrase that. Drawing LOS sucks. IT should be by the size of the model, not what you think you see. Hence a size one model can be seen if the terrain he is hiding behind is deemed less than size one. He would then be given cover, even though you phyically can not see him from the table view. Likewise a Tank behind size 4 terrain can not be see, even though you draw line of site to the com whips.

The rules themselves are fine with some refinement. The RULING on the LOS in the Rulemaster section is what suck BIG.

We tend to take a realistic approach to LOS, so as long as part of the model can be seen then its enough. Getting prone snipers would be cool looks wise, but a bit of an arse in gaming terms, I would just have it kneeling.... Sort of a halfway house :)

For vees we use WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get). If your turret is behind a building and your front isn't, sorry about your luck you can't see me to shoot.

For infantry, we ignore the mini and look at the base as that is their "sphere of influence". If the unit is claiming cover it's assumed they are ducking, crouching, hiding behind or pressed up against cover actually attempting to use it. They are not standing upright with their rifle pointed at their feet wondering when it's going to be their turn to shoot back.

"Vague" terrain such as hills/rubble is defined by size at the start to avoid confusion later.

That is the funniest thing I have heard in a while about this game!!

Truth is that is least realistic approach you can take. More like children in a sandbox.

You missed the second part to his sentence, "so as long as part of the model can be seen then its enough." Unless of course you're stating that his approach is unrealistic, and I'm the one who missed the ball. To each his own.
