Loren Wiseman Charity Deckplans Project

Alan Hume

Mongoose
Hi all,

If you are all aware of this project already please forgive my posting again here.

Eric Frietas over on the TML is kickstarting a charity deckplans project to raise money to help Loren Wiseman with his medical expenses.

He intends to design and sell newly designed Traveller Ship Deckplan PDF's in order to raise money for Loren.

So far he has about 4-5 deckplans submitted to him but he really does need more to make this a worthwhile project.

Therefore, I wanted to ask if, perhaps, anyone has a deckplan lying around that they could contribute (I am not sure of the exact format required) or would anyone be willing to make up a new one?

If anyone is interested please feel free to get in touch with me on threeeyesmcgurk@hotmail.com or contact Eric via the TML

Any help that folks can give would be much appreciated

Alan Hume

How good do they have to be?
I have a crude one I designed last week, its good enough for my use but doesn't have the polish of professional deckplans. Though I could probably give it a good once over, make it half decent.
(When I say crude, it is to scale but it only has labeled areas. No grid or key)

Hi guys, in answer to your question here is a post from Eric on the TML

Images:

The plans will be layed out in US Letter format. You may use color. We
aren't doing a physical book to my knowledge, everything will be print-outs.

The theme is currently... anything, however I would like to have some
non-standard ships, such as mining vessels, construction vessels, in-system
commuters, and maybe recreation vehicles (really expensive ones, possibly
with jump drives). I currently have a 400dT spy ship, a 200dT jump-2
gunboat, a 200dT merchant (tail sitter), and a life boat. Let's see what
kind of interesting vessels we can come up with!

Images should be submitted in 300 or 600 dpi .tif, .eps, or .ai (CS3 or
earlier) formats. Our layout man will have final say on that.

Try to get the deckplan image to fit on one page. 2 decks per page are
easily doable with anything up to 500dT.

Stats:
Get the stats to fit on one page, much like the format seen in the
Mongoose books. Use your good judgement.

Stats must be converted to the rules used in Mongoose Traveller Core
Book or as found in the Mongoose Traveller High Guard book. These design
rules are part of the Open Game License and are available in the Developer's
Pack on Mongoose Publishing's Traveller web site. The link is found at the
bottom of the page under "Traveller Main Rulebook" as "Developer's Pack":
http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/ho...hp?qsSeries=51.

Let's shoot for 10 plans and see if we can get more. Twelve or fifteen
might even be nice.

I will be providing licensing information and a license form to sign.

Let me know when the "layout man" has made a decision.

Love to help. Some of my things have made it into SnP. (Ie the Vargr Junker)

I do have a suggestion, that if you need a 3D image (ie an Illustration) of a ship I can do that -

Likewise feel free to suggest something I can do.

Cheers Ian

Hey guys

fear ye not, I shall keep you all posted here with fresh news as it happens

Please bear in mind though that this is a LOT of work and Eric has family and work commitments on top to take care of so if it seems like things are going slowly please bear with us 8)

I have to add here that I am not 'Officially' involved in this project beyond submitting a ship design, I took it on myself to try and get the word out by posting here there and everywhere but I have no 'Official' involvement

Just to let you all know that things are continuing apace here, hope you can all keep an eye out for further reports :D

I really think this is going to be quite special 8)

Nothing new as yet but Eric is completing work on a couple of natty ship plan designs and I reckon we will have more news shortly
