Looking to get in the game

Hey all I thought this would be the best place to ask this question. A friend of mine and me are thinking of trying out this game. There is a starter box set with 20 bugs 2 squads of 8 MI and some rule books and other goodies. Is this a good way to start. I want to make sure we like and will play the game before I invest a lot into it and this seems to be a good option. But with games being updated all the time I didn't want to buy something that I wouldn't be able to expand on easily. Thanks for your help

I agree. I'd also suggest you pick up a bottle of liquid glue for ABS plastic, for example Plastruct Plastic Weld. It will make assembly of the figures go much easier.

Thanks for the imput, but what about the rules I see you can get MI army book and a bug book do these add to the rules or replace them? Sorry for the dumb questions but I don't know anything about the game.

The books replace the lists in the rulebook, but you should get by fine with the basic lists if you're just starting out

I heartily concur about the glue. I've used IPS Weld-on (#3 or #4) for many years. It is basically what Goldwyrm is suggesting. I began using it for styrene plastic models more years ago that I can remember (and the memory loss is not the fault of the glue, so don't try the wisecracks, lol).

OK then one more question. I perform uniformity of size on my battlefield. Will the models they have now mesh with the pre-painted ones they are planing on releasing. so if I decide to go with some pre-painted I wont have 2 different sized bugs. Thank for the help!

Yep, Mongoose has said officially that the scale will be the same.
