Looking for B5 group in Milwaukee, WI

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but there didn't look like anywhere else on the forums to post this.

I just moved to the Milwaukee, WI area and would like to run a B5 game. I'm looking for any interested parties. Please let me know.

Sorry I am across the pond - but may also be worth posting here:

Funny, I just moved out of Milwaukee, WI, but I am not terribly far away and tend to drive up on Sundays for D&D. I have a number of friends in Milwaukee who used to play the B5 RPG together. I am sure I could help you find a few people in the area.

I'll PM you tomorrow.

Hi, I didn't get a message from you but I understand that the holidays can be busy. Funny enough, D&D is the other game that I run campaigns for. I used to run two D&D groups weekly and had a monthly B5 game but that wore me out so now I'm looking to do one game and it has to be either/or B5 or D&D. So far I've only found one other D&D player in the area so if you can help me round up some B5 players that would be great.

Just let me know.

I live in the Milwaukee area (Muskego to be exact). Which system where you planning to use?

Well with my old group I'd always played 1st edition but I was hoping to use the opportunity of living in a new area and the fact that I've had a two-year gaming hiatus due to having a child to run a game in 2nd edition. While looking at the forums though it appears that there is some debate about whether 2nd edition is worthwhile or not. From skimming the book there are certainly things that I prefer about it and one of the main points of contention seems to be that its incompatible with 1st edition which would be fine since my campaign is completely new. I'm also a big believer that story is far more important than game mechanics.

Still if I find a group of guys who are unwilling to play in anything other than 1st ed I could run with that.

Feel free to e-mail me at Dastari at AOL dot com with any further questions and whether or not you're interested in pursuing the possibility of gaming with me.

Sorry about the hiatus, but I got unexpectedly busy due to holidays and snowy weather.

I will talk to the other people I played with tonight. It has been a long time since we did B5, and we never had a strong GM, but I am sure a few of us would still play. Is anyone willing to be the GM to solve our problem there? I am sure if we can find a solid one, the game would last much longer.

Our D&D game is on pause right now for winter. We have been playing 4e and just got to about 3rd level.

Most of our players are arrayed to the South of the city these days. We have 1 down town, 1 in Bay View, 1 in Oak Creek, another unkown location and my gf and I who drive up from about an hour South of the city.

As an aside, I prefer to play a technomage, expecially since I'm finally finishing the trillogy this week. I think they are a little cleaner in 1e, but Neo did a very good job converting them to 2e.

Hey Gargoyle, I'm going to cross-post this as a PM just in case you don't look at this board often enough. I'm in Oak Creek myself so one of the guys that you play with ought to be pretty close to me but it doesn't sound like anyone is far.

As far as your GM problem, I am willing to run the game and GM. In fact I had a trilogy of stories that I wanted to tell with B5 but my wife ended up getting pregnant after I finished the first story in the arc and so gaming went on hiatus for a while. I would like to finish my story up here and I could fill you guys in on the necessary details although it took place 1000 years ago during the previous Shadow War so your characters would know little of what went on because part 2 is contemporary with the TV series.

I wanted to give 2e a try because 1e frustrated me since I don't like D&D 3.0 and much prefer 3.5 but since I never played 3.0 I sometimes was confused about what the book was talking about when it referenced things that don't exist in 3.5 but did in 3.0 (if that makes sense) although I don't think that my players ever noted my frustration since I just worked it out how it made sense to me.

Anyhow I'd love to play B5 and if enough of you guys want to play with me then I was thinking that maybe we could even do D&D together perhaps by rotating DM/GM duties so we play B5 sometimes and play D&D other times. Obviously I won't intrude if you guys are happy with the D&D and would like to play B5 on another day but I thought that I'd throw that out as a suggestion since I'd love to play some D&D as well.

Also feel free to e-mail me as Dastari at AOL dot com. and just let me know if you or anyone else would be interested in B5.
