Lone Wolf Update

Hi guys,

Just to let you know what is going on. . .

Books 1-3: These are currently being reprinted, so if you have an order in for one, there will be a slight delay. We have decided to continue producing Books 1-5 until the softbacks are released next year - this seems the fairest way of doing things, or there will be people who cannot jump on the Lone Wolf train. Books 6-12 will be limited to around 750 copies or so, all books thereafter to 500 copies.

Novels: The two novels are indeed being printed right now, and we expect to see them next month. These hardbacks will be a strict 500 copy run with no reprints.

Book 6: Just arrived at our warehouse. Expect to see it within the next 2-3 weeks, depending on where you are in the world.

Book 7: At print right now, expect to see it a tad before the novels!

Cool

any news on the paperbacks?

Yes. . . and no :)

Movement in the paperback world goes at a glacial pace, unfortunately. However, we'll be announcing some news soon (maybe next week!) which will have a potentially huge impact on Lone Wolf and softbacks.

Okaaaay... Do I take it this means those of us who originally signed up and got the books with minor errors won't be getting any reprints but will still be getting the errata bookmark? Which is fine, just wanted to get it clear in my mind.

And, if I may be so bold, are all the mini-adventures taken? It's being discussed on another thread I know but whilst I've got your attention I thought I'd mention it. Oviously there are hundreds of us saying "I'd love to do it" and "you don't know what this means to me", etc. Well I happen to think you do know what it means to us because you've read our passionate posts so if there is any way... Hey if it isn't possible for an individual I'd be more than happy to join forces with other members to write a joint Forum mini-adventure - each take a part or reach key agreements together, etc: I'm sure I wouldn't be the only willing volunteer
It goes without saying we have a vast knowledge base both us Golden-Age-Of-The-Shianti Oldies and New(Order)bies, the imagination and commitment are there too. Oh well said my bit and got it off my chest - I've picked a number from the Random Number Table for your reply and got 0 so is that good or bad? :?

The inevitable quesiton :)

We will be sending out the bookmark to anyone who asks for it (just an email needed - wait until we have it in stock though!). We are looking at swapping out Book 3's to anyone willing to send their old copy in to us.

The mini-adventures are not all taken yet, but they are handled on a case by case basis. Obviously, competition is very tight for them (I haven't had a chance to try it myself yet!).

Competition is very tight you say. So would it be worth my while sending in a new sample of writing or do you guys have enough on your plate without wading through more reams of LW.

It cannot hurt, though please don't expect a quick response!

Thanks for such a swift response. Just one more thing and then I'll leave you alone, er for a little while anyway! Who do I send my work to? I'm assuming it's you but if not let me know.
Thanks again.

Oh wow - is that the sun coming out? It's a good job Zagarna didn't invade where I live this year because Lone Wolf would have had to do things the hard way - Sommerswerd'd be on 'strike'! 8)

What does this mean for the offer you made last year that anyone who buys all 32 LW books seperately would also get the novels? At the ideal pace of things, that would be 2011 - I doubt there would be any left from a run of 500 by then.

I'm sure they will follow through on what was promised.

What the statement says is that they will not reprint because there is a demand for more books (Collector's Edition). What was promised as part of another deal is quite another thing.

I gather the legends will be available in Paperback version as well eventually where those who have a lower budget for books may purchase them.

Anyway, the above are my guesses on how it will work out.

Me too I have a question:

You are willing to swap the old copies of book 3 for new ones to those who will ask for it. This means that you've corrected the missing section 192. However, did you also correct all the other little errors that we have found in books 3 and 4? Like the bad link in the mini-adventure of book 3, the missing equipment section in book 4, etc.

I believe Mongoose Charlie is the one in charge of organizing that. Or at least she was a couple months ago when I was getting things arranged.

This is a very good question. Will extras be reserved for those people who plan on ordering all the gamebooks individually? Or should we just let you know now that we plan on ordering them all, and you can just send us the novels in advance? :D

Novels will indeed be reserved.

Looking forward to the novels - I think I ordered mine a year ago so the suspense it pretty high now!

In terms of the mini-adventures, I'll send some of my work off to you as well to look at. If competition is a tight as you say, I'm more than happy to team up wtih SnowShadow or whomever you choose.

Thank you!

Just got book 6 today in the mail, in California. 10 days after this update, very happy to see the book arriving already :)

I just want to know if January, 2009 is still the target release date...but now you've got me curious as to what this "huge impact" is all about...
