Lone Wolf Books 3 & 4 Corrections

Hi guys,

The corrections for Books 3 & 4 can now be downloaded from their relevant pages of the web site.

In addition to this, we are going ahead with the free bookmark offer which will feature these corrections on its reverse. This will appear around the middle of next month, and will be automatically sent to everyone who has ordered Book 6. If you have not ordered Book 6, you will be able to get a bookmark simply by emailing us (details given next month).

I have a query that may mean there is another bad error in book 4.

At the bottom of section 315 it says:

"If you do not possess this skill, you can go left by turning to 269.

Or you can go right by turning to 145."

None of the text alludes to the skill mentioned above. After going back to the Project Aon version I found that the skill is Tracking and that if I have this skill I should turn to section 48. However, section 48 in the new print is a totally different section now so I followed the PA version of section 48 which says (whited out to prevent spoilers):

"You sense that the left tunnel leads away from Ruanon. Without hesitation, you turn and head off towards the right. Turn to 145"

After this the story seems to continue fine. Am I to believe that the use of the Tracking skill has been dropped from the new version (making the choice random now) and it's just a typo or has this section been slightly broken. Either way it would be good if it was clarified and added to the errata.

EDIT: I also noticed that in the downloads section of the Lone Wolf page you don't have the Northern Magnamund map under the book 1 or book 2 headings but you do have it under book 3. I think the map should be under the headings for books 1 and/or 2. I think there should be a PDF for a map of The Icy Wastes of Kalte for book 3!

When you say "bookmark" do you literally mean a book-mark, or is a code for something else?

Literally a bookmark, a little sliver with errata to mark your place

Well I hope the book 4 bookmark hasn't been printed or we'll need another bookmark for the errata on the first bookmark.

Hmmm are you sure there is supposed to be an equipment section at all in the book?

Looking at the equipment text in game-book 4 it certainly looks to me that you will start with empty hands or what you have.

Gamebook 5 is similar.

The reason for the revised equipment part (much less start equipment) could be a deliberate change from the author.

Um, just looking at the equipment in your download of corrections for book 4 - it's actually the equipment for book 6! (Bow, Quiver, etc.) Unless I can shoot Barraka and have him fall into the Maakengorge.
Book 6 you can take 5 items which might explain the confusion.

Book 4 you can take six(!) of the following:

WARHAMMER
DAGGER
2 POTIONS OF LAUMSPUR (Backpack Items) +4 EP Each
SWORD
SPEAR
5 SPECIAL RATIONS (Meals)
MACE
CHAINMAIL WAISTCOAT (Special Items) +4EP
SHIELD (Special Items) +2CS

So that's any two weapons and everything else, Ulnar's feeling generous.

I've already posted the Book 5 equipment under the Shadow on the Sand Forum.

Um, just looking at the equipment in your download of corrections for book 4 - it's actually the equipment for book 6! (Bow, Quiver, etc.)

Ha! That is so true! You can only use the Bow as a regular weapon starting with book 6!
