Legend Blowing Off Shelves!

Mongoose
Legend is apparently selling like crazy here in the U.S.; I went to order from my favorite store in Fort Wayne Indiana, which is one of the largest in the midwest, with an awesome (and cheap!) online store called www.superherogameland.com. I saw they got it in last week, and went to order it today and they are already sold out. I contacted them and they said they can't even reorder, because all four of their distributors are out as well. I can order it at a higher price elsewhere still, but wow, that is a good sign for Mongoose.

It is somewhat taking us by surprise :)

If you can find out who those distributors are, we can give them a kick :)

I think that the combination of price point, the size of the book, and the fact that it has been released under the OGL have helped it to pick up some momentum.

It was always a great system, but MRQII had trouble establishing itself. It's great to see Legend getting the attention that it deserves!

(I presume that this means that we may see a second printing at some point?)

I would assume there will be a second printing very soon, as even Amazon is saying that Legend is out of print and unavailable already. :D

Wow...I didn't know that!

I hope that Mongoose can keep up with demand.

On the positive side, this probably means that the Legend product line has a bright future. It wouldn't surprise me if we see a number of additional products added to the schedule for 2012.

It will be interesting to hear what Matt says about the future of the game in this year's State of the Mongoose address...

A second printing should have a rehaul of some of the magic rules (no longer in the shadow of previous RQ tropes), and perhaps a limited run of a hard cover edition (perhaps keep it digest sized for consistency).

Just throwing it out there yet again Matt heh heh

This is all good news for us. I for one am enjoying all this BRP-related rpgs proliferation, and I really hope all these games go well, whether its Chaosium BRP, LEGEND, OpenQuest, Renaissance, or the upcoming RQ6. I would much prefer to be inundated with LEGEND OGL products than with D20 OGL which plagues the shelves everywhere.

I am pretty happy with Mongoose's effort so far, I have high hopes here!

Hopefully, this'll mean some of Mongoose's established settings will get some more love and enjoy an itroduction to a wider audience.

In other words...More Deus Vult...hint, hint...

And a newly revitalised Signs & Portents...hint, hint...

I'd be very happy to see those in my Christmas stocking :!:

Please just redirect the art dollars to interior art (and or improved layout)!

Please redirect the art dollars to more non-glorantha bits. Art doesn't make the game more playable no matter how much I appreciate it the first time around. Sorry Sdavies.
