Legal Torpedo Mounts

Mongoose
I have seen a lot of conversation on this topic back and fourth. and was looking for a list of the Legal mounting solutions for mounting Torpedoes. I am going to give my thought (with an example).
Fixed Single mount (ala WW II TBF/TBM Avenger Torpedo bomber or Elco and Higgins PT boats)
Something between fixed and spinal mount (Forward torpedo room WW II Gato Class Submarine) or even (MK21 Vertical Launch System off the Ticonderoga Class)
Barbette (I'm thinking of the MK26 Missile Launchers off the Ticonderoga Class)

I know HG Seems to only allow the Barbette, are there other options as my ship idea is leaning more to the fixed torpedo room ala the Gato rather than the MK26 Barbette.

Thanks,

Submarinesque, three fixed mountings per hardpoint, one would think, in the bow.

So far, only the Confederation Navy has that option to launch torpedoes that way.

Torpedo boats would have torpedo launchers externally affixed to the hard or firm points.

Light torpedo bombers would have a single firmpoint, externally mounted.

I agree just was looking if there was any official backing to that point of view through some book I don't have yet or if it would have to be a house rule.

also as torpedoes are counted as heavy weapons the "three fixed hardpoints" were not available and I am ok with that ruling. hence why I was suggesting a semi spinal mount the torpedo room itself is the mount containing "X" launch tubes.

Torpedo Grapple, Firmpoint: This device takes up a single firmpoint and carries two torpedoes on a non-reloadable mount. Both can be launched together or a single weapon can be delivered. The grapple itself does not affect streamlining but a ship with torpedoes in place can only be considered at best partially streamlined. Any kind of torpedo can be carried on a grapple. A firmpoint grapple costs MCr0.1 and does not need to be replaced after use but cannot be reloaded in flight. Torpedoes must be purchased at standard prices – Cr150000 per standard torpedo and more for specialist types.

cool

Looking a bit more and chasing another idea down a rabbit hole it appears what I was looking for exists I just didn't realize it as the name threw me off but what I appear to be looking for is "torpedo bay" not an exact fit but much closer than massaging the rules around the barbette.

Which book is that from, again..?
I know I’ve seen it, but can’t remember where.

It also makes the dogfight missiles in Trailing Frontier even stranger.

Chartered Aliens Too.

And it's one reason I'd like a centralized index, to keep track of equipment.

Traveller Companion has interceptor and dogfight/point defence missiles.

Ah yes, thanks!

Companion has those, and Trailing Frontiers also. Two to a firmpoint, as compared to two full-sized torpedoes or four regular missiles.
