Lack of fighter cover in Centauri ships.

Hi,
as well as EA I've been looking at finishing off my Centauri fleet.

No I'm not sure if this is beacuse I am looking at the EA list but are the Centauri rather light on fighters at raid level or below. Yes I know you can get a Balvarin but other than that you need a battle level ship for fighters. Even the Narn get more fighters at a lower level.

So any thoughts on what to do about this other than by a Balvarin?

Get more maximus firgates to cover the fleet?

Spend one Raid point on 8 Haven patrol boats and forget about fighters?

well, either bring a balvarin or more Maximus. Personally I'm quite happy with having a Fleet Carrier at raid PL, and you could always take a few wings of fighters on their own.

We do get a very nice range of excellent fighters and a Balvarian is a good ship to take anyway

Spend a few Patrol points and buy wings of fighters. All you realistically need to buy is enough to whittle down serious fighter opposition, leave the remainder to Maximi

It's actually a deliberate weakness of the ships in the Centauri fleet. It does mean that you need to take either a Balvarin or separate fighter wings (which are still good value).

my mate just uses the normal weapons, theirs enough of them.........
also my dodge rolls are legendary, (an i know everyone ses they roll badly but its just my dodges)

Your Maximus really is an essential unit now. I won't be caught dead without at least one to cover my Primus at raid level. A pair for my new Octurion in higher level games.

true but as Triggy said, we felt that it should be a centauri drawback
