Umm, this is first I've heard of these "Valkyries" and I've been a big fan of the franchise since the start. "Severed Dreams" is my favourite ep and I don't recall seeing anything newer then the T-Bolts in use during the battle. Where do these vessels come from? Are they just mentioned in the core book?

If you have ever seen the show GROPOS the base they are attacking is hit by one or two Valkyries during the assault. They can be found in the EA book under the army vechicle listings. It's quite capable but I doubt it's truely spaceworthy, probably was one of those things that happened when someone wasn't paying attention or they were running out of money and needed to stick something else into the fight.

One of the problems is that the Valkyries in the background don't take an active part in the assault, and they're far, far larger than they should be relative to the escorts. They've been used as CG filler basically :(

Rather than have those as Valkyries, why not assume they are one of the LCV's described in the EA Fact book which until we have visual evidence to the contrary bare a considerably resemblance to the Valkyries - say the Londons?

A similar thing happens in "In the Beginning" - to fill out a scene of wantom destruction on an EA fleet, right in the background, at the limits of TV resolution are a few Omegas whose rotating sections aren't.

The Valkyries in 'The Coming of Shadows' book are described as spacecraft IIRC.

Oddly the picture of it in the EA book is all wrong.

I guess it's one of those things that you have to make your own mind up about. :?

Uhm, yeah. Those vehicles used in "GROPOS" where ground effects vehicles (you can plainly see the fans.) They would be totally in effective in space...nothing to push against to move. If those are the pics used for the Valk you are talking about then I would say someone in layout gafted a bit.

Don't you mean the Myrmidon since they are the current LCV?

Ah but I can't remember let alone spell Myrmidon without prompting :)
