There were those who had begun to question my innate superiority. After all, did I not lose my previous engagement with the cunning Minbari warlord also known as Burger? Fools! Do they nothing of tactics on Planet Houston?!
General Hash wins, he always wins.
To demonstrate this simple face, once and for all time, I challenged the son of Burger's parents to prove his courage and to face me on the field of battle once more.
I had decided to take more scouts given their usefulness in our last battle, and was pleasantly surprised to see that Burger had elected to field a similar fleet to the one that was almost crushed last time. I noted an additional Leshath but was unconcerned...it too would submit to my will.
Naturally the terrain was to my advantage (they are laminated cut-outs of images released by Court Jester...we may allow him to live in the new order perhaps as some sort of Jester to amuse me).
Our fleets - 5pt Battle:
Shadows (General Hash)
1 x Shadow Ship (Younger)
6 x Shadow Scouts
Minbari (Burgerman)
1 x Sharoos
2 x Shavanti
2 x Leshath
The battle itself? Well I could describe it blow for blow but this writing is more than beginning to bore me...feast your eyes instead:
Burger's pathetic fleet tried to hide in asteroids and outmaneuver the Shadows. I entered the asteroid field as well (incidently giving my Scouts stealth 7 which reduced to 6+ within 8", woo hoo!)
I went straight for the Stealth busting Leshath's taking them out in short order (Stealth 6 increased to 8 (asteroids) but reduced to 7 (stealth reduction), 6 (Shadows), 5 (within 8"), 4 (previous hit one a 5 roll was made). We exchanged blows but my increased number of initiative sinks (more scouts plus killing off Leshaths) enabled me to avoid the Shantavi's for almost the entire game (one of them shot it's beam once only to get 4 hits - 3 of which dodged by a scout!)
Result - Burger surrendered after losing both Leshath, one Shantavi and the Sharoos...Shadows lost NOTHING. This game went completely in my favour slightly due to "lucky" rolling but mainly due to the sheer hardness of the Shadow Scout and my increased number of initiative sinks, allowing me to completely outmaneuver the Minbari.
Finally, the son of Burger's parents shall be my slave, forever (or at least until we play again but probably with different fleets). If not, the hundreds of gamers he supports with his ship viewer, shall suffer the price of his defiance!
