Klingon D7 model

Well unless there is a Y4 planned, that leaves space for us horrible grubby fans to put some stuff in.

Is the 1st Romulan War in Y40 covered in any detail by ADB? And the Y33 war between the Romulans and the Gorn?

Logically the Romulans would field pre-Warbird classes in at least their conflict with the Gorn, where it says both sides were using lasers and nuclear missiles.

I know Matt is unlikely to want to cover a period 135 years before the General War, but if we can get the whole Hawk series released it shouldn't be that hard to scratch build or whatever some earlier Romulan ships. We'll have the old Federation CLs as well, and we'll see what else can be found.

Yeah, I meant the "earlier stuff" as in the early period of the general war or the time immediately beforehand (as in the series' time period)...

But the Gorn/Romulan war would be good too - maybe an early Fed CA design and the like to lead onto the one we all know and love... and it'd give the Mongoose designers a bit of fun after doing all the boring stuff (from their point of view) like the variants... even the F5 and E4 will be a tweaking of the same basic shape, I suspect... they'll enjoy being able to "play" with various concepts, assuming ADB agree to let them.

Early Fed CA design is very much like the current Fed CA design. There is no miniature for it, and I think ADB missed a trick by making the Y Fed ships so like the main era ships. The Old CL would probably be the standard heavy cruiser of the time. What you want is frigates and destroyers looking more like the old Federation CL, and some national ships.

The problem is how to do it without ripping off the Enterprise series, because one thing done well with that was ship design.

Actually there are difference between the different classes of Fed CAs but the differences are so minute on the Mini there was not a need or a demand to make them. I know in the story "And to the Republic,' it talks about the differences between 1300 series and the 1700 series. plus once you hit the General War with all its refits all the CAs have pretty much the same Firepower and Capabilities.

As far as the B10s go 2 were actually finished. The B10 Invincible launched during General War and the Insatiable was converted to a Space Control Ship (i.e. a carrier) and completed just before the ISC War Started. The other 2 were so badly mauled during construction they were scrapped.

Another Limited production ship is the Federation Strike Cruiser (Prometheus Class). It was built as a alternative to the New Light Cruiser (Kearsarge Class). A total of 3 Prometheus were built and all were shipped to the Paper Tiger 6th Fleet on the Romulan Border.

Their are more but we will let it go with that for now. There are also Class Histories for various Classes in Cpatian's Logs.

Also once someone finds a proven design most vehicles repeat it with very little variation. Look at a WW2 Era DC3 a Vietnam Era C130 and a Modern Day C17. Or take a look at Pick Up trucks designs since 1917. They all look basically look the same. A Engine Compartment up front, a Drivers Compartment in the middle and a Cargo Bed in the rear. Why would you assume this would change in Starship Construction in the Future?
Now look at the battleships USS Arizona and USS Missouri. Or look at car designs since the Ford Model T - an engine compartment in the front, a driver's and passenger's compartment in the middle and a cargo bay in the rear. (Except for the VW Beetle which got the engine and cargo bays the other way round. :))

Besides, the real question for me is "Do these models look interesting enough for me to hand over money, then spend time building and painting them?"
