Cosmic Mongoose
so then, several weeks after I said I would, I bring you Juyaie, a supplement based on the Abbai/Drakh war.
I want to thank those who gave feedback, and I took most issues into consideration.

Here http://homepage.ntlworld.com/hiffano/Juyaie.pdf is the link..

To pre-empt some comments I didn't downgrade the shields on the Milaie, the "fluff" explains why they are high, and I took a lot of time pondering whether the combination of defensive systems on the Heavy scout were too much, but it's a Skirmish level hull, heavy fighters should eat it for breakfast :-) as always feel free to say your piece, remember, I did this for fun believe it or not, I make no money, I won't get any shiny contracts, and I'm still going to be touchy if you say bad things about it!!

enjoy.

WOW...its great. very lovely.
thanks for your hard work Hiffano, and thanks to all the other people who have worked on it,so...

hope we see more of this in the future....

I liked it. Can't give you any real feedback on the new designs yet, but hope to give them a play this week. It was really great to see someone actually pay any attention to the Abbai designs, as they really were sadly incapable of fighting the holy war.

That is very cool dude!!! You must have put a lot of work into this. I really like the look of the "The chase" senario. One group of busted up ships chasing another group of busted up ships across the table.

+ Great work.

- However... isn't the drakh heavy scout a bit too powerful? GEG combined with stealth combined with dodge combined with 15" 8AD TL,AP weapon, combined with Advanced Jump Engine and everything powered by a tiny heavy rider generator... Personaly I would rather use Ria’stor Gris Fast Destroyer hull.

I don't question it's FAP... with that little HP tha ship would be really random at use - one tme it would work great and another would go down due to a lucky hit. I just can't imagine how would they put so many energy-consuming systems in hull that small. And another point - the ship is equiped with some kind of 15" weapon while even Amu carries it's lighter version. If they had weapon like that they would put it at least on Amu and Dra'Vash. It seems they didn't.

I spent a lot of time thinking about this one to be honest, and one of the reviewers also stated they thought it was powerful. i agree that defensively it's as tough as old boots, until it's actually hit. the basis for using the heavy raider hull was merely cos it looks way cooler than the destroyer. I did take the geg off, and then stuck it back on as i thought, meh, geg1 ppfft!... if i had used the fast destroyer at raid, I would have ended up stripping it back so much to keep it at raid, I just preffered the raider ;-). . as it stands e-mines, and heavy fighters will eat it for breakfast, it's still overall weaker than a leshath, although it may be a tad tougher than a delphi. I may go drop it's wepons Ad to rpomote it more as a hiding ship, any other thoughts most welcome.

*edit* as for your later points, the drakh are advanced race and have at least some access to shadow tech, who knows how muuch power can actually be generated :-), and it's a newer vessel than the amu and suchlike, and weapons tech obviously took a leap forward... besides, when have ACTA weapons been logical lol!

Yeah, if ACTA weapons were logical the EA would be loaded up on Molecular Slicer Beams during the Crusade Era. :D

As said elsewhere, good job Hiff, well done.

Although I still think your Charybdis looks like it should have been replaced *by* the Hyperion.

Yeah, youv'e said. thing is ,the replacement for the hyperions was really the Marathon, the Charbdys gains some extra surviveability with the hull 6, at the expense of beam dice, the trials of a prority based system!

the Charbdys gains some extra surviveability with the hull 6

Not against beams, she doesn't, not with fewer hull hit points. Against everything else, the hull-6 is also compromised by the weaker interceptor fit.

There again, I 'spose the Drakh don't have beams, so that's alright then.

Oh, wait a minute....

...still, it's done now.

I do think the rest of Juyaie! - esp. the scenarios - is really good.

now now, less sarcasm please, she wasn't designed to fight Drakh!

and as has been stated on many occasions, a replacement is not necesarily better than what it replaces, it may be cheaper, easier to preoduce and maintain, be more adaptable etc. I mean just look at the SA80... you can't tell me it was a better replacement ;-)
