Characters for use as pregenerated player characters would benefit from a service history, particularly the parts of the service history that include making connections with other player characters.

How does the book handle default skills for varying homeworld types?

Those types of details are impractical in a print book, or in a quick lookup table in a PDF book, but they'd be nice to have in a PDF appendix.

The service history is listed, but events aren't detailed - wanted to keep it to a one-page table which limited each entry to 2 lines.

If a player wants to use a character from the list, just substitute other players for their Contacts or Allies.

You can get a new player into the game in the time it takes to copy the info to a character sheet, assign them additional starter gear according to your campaign, and establish at least one existing payer as their Contact or Ally (optional).
