Jump Travel

There's nothing about it shrinking over time while in jump, though.

I know I've read something about it shrinking over the duration of the trip, but I couldn't tell you where I saw that let alone if it is canon.

Oh, and thanks for the warp bubble size. I can think of some nasty surprises if a small ship is too close to a large battle cruiser when it jumps.

Just an observation, but am I missing where it states what the fuel consumption is for a jump-1 in this book?

I know each ship in the common spacecraft has a listing for fuel consumption, but I'm not happy with that particular layout. From my own knowledge of the system I know it's 10% of the ships displacement but when I'm reading the Jump travel Section it has no mention of fuel consumption at all.

This will make this rather awkward when it comes to things like clamping a ships boat to the side of your far trader and now not having enough fuel to make your Jump-2. Since there is no clarification to let people know that by adding 20 tons to the outside of the ship that jumping suddenly costs more.

Don't forget the jump drive itself wouldn't handle the extra tonnage. Though it also doesn't have anything to clamp a ships boat to the side of the ship.

Okay, now I'm embarrassed by the fact that I didn't catch that in my example.

I was looking for problems with the jump travel stuff. This definitely needs clearing up. If' I'm just missing it somewhere in the book, please someone point me to it, if not it should be in the Jump travel section in the Space craft opperations chapter.

It doesn't even need to be all that intensive. a table explaining fuel consumption VS Tonnage. The one about the drive rating not being able to handle the extra 30 tons for a boat might be a bit more comprehensive though. I can understand if that gets left until they drop Highguard and actually go into detail with the drive ratings for the ship design.
