Jump Travel - Jump!

On page 141 of the Core Rule Book, under "Jump!", there are a list of DMs for jumping. One of them I don't quite understand...

"-2 per Jump drive hit"

What does that mean? How does it work?

"Hits" are system damage, either from missed maintenance (p. 138) or combat (p. 151).

Get a good engineer who will also recommend not getting hit.
