Your previews are working - I'm starting to get excited about this product!

You must be "Difficult", while I am "Easy", Jon had me at "Mechs".

:D I generally don't like to mix mechs with my trav, but in this case I may have to make an exception.

When can we expect this to hit UK distributors?

Truthfully, I don't know. I don't imagine it will take to long (early-mid May is my best guess). I'm working with a company that takes care of distribution for me so I don't know all the inner working of distribution that precisely. I imagine that if you tell your local game store owner about it, it will appear there quicker. But for sure, I don't know.

Does "Mech Tech 'n' bot: Mech Squadrons" require any books other than the standard rule book? Like maybe the vehicles or High Guard books?

Just trying to get myself ready, since my book collection is not exactly full yet.

If you are just using the mechs and not the mass combat stats, the Traveller Main Rulebook is all you really need. If you want to include mass combat in your game, the rules are found in the Mercenary Core Book. We used High Guard to design the mechs, but you do not need the book to get it's full use out of Mech Squadrons.

I could definitely see civilian Vehicles and military vehicles being useful in combat (for the mechs to step on ;) ) .

With the whole ash cloud going on, I expect Mech Squadrons to arrive on the eastern side of the Atlantic ... later than previously anticipated.

You need to make a hostile environment mech that can handle the ash.

I would recommend Tungston T85 Farseer. They are utilized by InterPlanetary Scouting to explore ruins on long dead worlds. I think they can handle a little ash. When piloted by Chase Milner, ace driver and former priest, the Farseer passes through any firefight unscathed.

Either that or PeopleDrones HM65 Ho-Masubi. Standard equipment on the mech are a laser flame thrower and a tree chopper. Colonial Development Solutions uses them to clear space on a world for settlements to be established. The mech is designed to handle any environment. To the Ho-Masubi, ash is hash.

;)

Then you should be good to go. Load them up with copies of Mech Tech 'n' bot: Mech Squadrons and send them right through the ash cloud.

Just a quick update. Mech Squadrons is still at the printer. The most recent estimate I received (last week) was that it was suppose to ship yesterday. As far as I can tell it has not yet shipped.

I apologize for the delay. I will let everyone know as soon as I hear something. Thank you for your patience.

Well tbh I really like the JBE stuff (even the 'I'm to lazy to do basic stuff myself d66 sheets)

I already have a basic civilan mech in MTU - powered waldo suits for construction etc (a-la Aliens). That makes perfect sense to me and isn't a huge leap of faith to see where they would be logically used. Add some advanced armour, military sensors and heavy weapons (neither of which is a major task) and you have a mech - ergo mechs are available (but VERY expensive and rare) IMTU.
