Isometric layouts

They are a little more useful in getting the layout in your head, I think, and much prettier.
No, they're not as useful for minis, but in practice I would prefer to sketch out the ship layout on a battle mat anyway, where I can also easily add or erase features rather than trying to print out a map and blow it up to the right size for minis.

Isometric are best for giving Travellers the feel of the size and construction of a ship and the best way to get them that flavor is via a digital download file. I would then display it on a screen for them when relevant.

While the referee is building worlds the best information is the top down view. So I'd say put the traditional top down in the book and make isometric available as a download.
