Mongoose
I'm finding it near impossible to buy or find Mongoose products in the States now a days. Have they stopped publishing over here for some reason or another?

I think it depends on the product line. In my FLGS they still have quite a few Mongoose products, but from a limited number of Mongoose lines. If I want B5, they have it. If I wanted Starship Troopers it was no where to be seen. Not sure why though.

See that's the thing my local gaming stores use to carry Mongoose products and used to carry pretty much all of them faithfully. They also sold rather well, but now they are down to just a few books that did'nt do quite as well as the others...and that's it. And none of them are quite sure why the products are not being carried anymore...ah well at-least I can buy direct if need be. The only thing I can think is maybe they didn't sell quite as well as they seemed too.

Fine, bad example on my part Aramis. Let me try again: Lone Wolf and Paranoia are no where to be seen. I have yet to see Cthulhutech on the shelves either.

My point was the FLGS seems to have beome selective on what they carry from Mongoose.

I haven't been able to buy any RuneQuest, Traveller, Paranoia, etc, products so far without going online or special ordering through my FLGS. I think it's for two reasons:

1) A lot of shops have difficulty stocking anything they can't sell quickly, so if it isn't d20, it's usually not stocked, and

2) Some of the quality issues that resulted from the self-publishing period put my FLGS off ordering things from them.

In both cases it's a shame, but it just means people have to see the renewed quality and experience demos. If enough people start special ordering, the shops will stock it.
