Is anything going to happen with Modern Combat?

Well - Matt mentioned an Airpower supplement similar to "Warbirds of World War II" somewhere.
Other then that I have no info. :?

To be honest I am amazed about the lack of Logo License Products for MC.
4 books from me (A.D.Publishing) and one from Rabidchild for WW II but nothing for MC or any other genre else.

it is a shame i agree, wish i had the time these days to pour over modern combat.. so many bits of equipment that needs stats in modern its crazy.

Look, it's nice that we have the means to create our own supplements and all for Modern Combat, but I certainly hope that MP does not expect us to "expand" MC all by ourselves. They still need to do their part to keep this game alive. Also, have official models/miniatures wouldnt hurt.

Well, if certain artist types would actually generate a few things, we might be able to get something release.

Course, I really need to finish that paperwork...

The lack of proxy minis in a specific scale for all factions kind of limits things too.
Sorry I have to disagree. Proxy minis are by default available. I can use a Smurf figure as a tank-proxy if I want and my opponent agrees!
BTW: What do you think is missing? The 20mm market is very healthy, S&S minis are pumping out minis on an almost weekly base, what is nd limiting?

WWII is certainly more popular than Modern.

However, as someone said above, we have our Birds of Prey supplement waiting in the wings. . .

I'd been beginning to think it had been forgotten too, unlike Mongoose to not even release an errata for it.

Peita and Sgt Scream over at Evocommand have been working on new lists that expand (and correct in a number of places  ) the original MC lists and add a few more, plus extra rules and traits (e.g. vehicle suppression and reactive armour, different organisations for mech/motor/airborne etc.). Last time I looked, only the USMC and German lists were completed, but a number of others are near enough done to be usable (e.g. just missing points costs for some Russian and PLA, easy enough to guesstimate until they're completed).

As far as models and infantry go, there are plenty of kits for all the factions in 1/72nd and 1/76th scale. Other than the new German Puma APC and the Russian T-95, I don't think there is anything not available (or at least close enough to substitute or modify). Liberation Miniatures cover virtually every current army (including a number of vehicles) in 20mm metal (not counting Germans, which are being reworked) and S&S have just brought out proper PLA troops. Not to mention all the plastic figures out there, and quite a few 25/28mm figure ranges in metal.

[remove "proxy"]
2nd attempt...
The lack of actual minis in a specific scale for all factions tends to limit things. Playing with an army full of proxies or mixed scales of 20mm, 25mm, 28mm, 1:54 annoys me.

Not everyone plays 20mm. ;) But the argument of minis is a dead horse. It CAN be done, it is just an annoyance factor that is stronger for me personally. I personally prefer to avoid proxies as much as possible.

That's the advantage of 20mm for MC, with a bit of Googling you can pick up almost everything you need without resorting to proxies. I did a pretty extensive search for all the factions before committing to any models for them.

Don't you think for a second that I haven't already stared at the bin of Papo Smurfs in my local hobby store and considered a smurf game... don't think it for a second

I'm working v-e-r-y slowly on a Falklands sourcebook. The army lists are about 80% done, but need testing, and my Gaelcon responsibilites take precedence at the moment.

Agreed! If possible all in one scale on a beautiful table is preferred!
And as Iain already said, you are on the save side with 20mm...
(But again agreed not for everyone's taste!).

Cool! I would be interested in seeing those lists!

i love modern, but i also loved the scale mongoose did originaly and all my terrain was built to that scale, now no scale fits my terrain very well :(

wondering if i should sell up all my old BFE modles and start afresh !! and go 20mm and build a 20mm city !

You could go 15mm. I'm going to be picking up some 15mm, mainly because I don't have the storage space for lots of 20mm terrain, and it'll be easier to scratch up. Plus 15mm infantry is 25p a model. And I can play ambush alley with it.

I've gone 15mm. plenty of prepainted aircraft and scenery about, and cheap cheap models from Peter Pig and QRF.

Plus I'm thinking all of my current desert scenery will go nicely into a WWII desert game as well :)
