I know I have beat this drum before but now with the Central Supply Catalog, the skill is mentioned...where in the rules does that skill hide?

Thanks

Its in the Universe of Babylon 5, if it is in another book then I can't remember and don't have my books to hand. From its use in B5 maybe agents but I don't have that yet.

AND the info at the beginning of the B5 book specifically states that the skills listed in the book are OGL.

So Intrusion is now an OGL skill for Traveller.

Can I get a page number for that skill, I'm not seeing it in my book...

Ronin84 is right. I just did a search through the B5 PDF and there is no Intrusion skill in there.

There are 3 new skills in B5:
Knowledge
Tuvor (Invisibility)
Veshii (Intervention)

The Tunalla skill is identical to Investigate, so isn't actually a new skill.

No Intrusion skill...

Write that one down! I have looked in all the splat books so far and there is no intrusion skill though Central Supply references one...

Is it is Agent?

And if not, is it in Scoundrel?

Presumably, Intrusion Skill can be intuited as being the active skill used by characters who wish to defeat locking mechanisms. Does it come with specialities (mechanical locks, electronic locks, biometric locks) etc?

What? I'm only asking the questions everyone wants to have answered. It doesn't mean anyone has to answer them, if they're not allowed to yet.

Not sure if it is in Agent, but I suspect it may be. I will have to look through my copy when I get home from work. Agent has all sorts of rules on espionage including computer hacking (which requires more than just the computer skill).

I'm heading off to Fan Boy 3 tomorrow to secure a copy of Agent. I'm going to enjoy looking at that book. Sounds interesting ...

IT is not in Agent, nor Scout, Mercenary, High Guard or any of the other splat books.

I was hoping for Scoundrel and now that seems to be a no...

Curious that it was included in Central Supply....

There's a Security skill in Scoundrel that covers the same ground. I wasn't involved in CSC, but I suspect they're different names for the same concept.

Maybe we need to just drop the Intrusion skill since none of the SKILL books list it. An equipment Catalog is not the best place to justify a skill from.

Intrusion is a combination of Mechanic, Engineer (Electronics), Deception, Stealth and some good old fashioned Dexterity and Intelligence. It depends on the specific situation which skill and characteristic to use in a given situation.

Agreed, I am staying with Mechanic and Engineer at this point.

It just seems to have sneaked in there, unbidden and unwanted ...

IIRC, Intrusion was the skill you used in previous editions of Traveller (CT / MT?) whenever you wanted to smuggle a restricted weapon past the security checks at a starport and into a world with a high Law Level.

I don't know, maybe the authors of CSC remembered about the skill and (mistakenly) thought it was also included in Mongoose's version of Traveller. :?:

I just looked. Intrusion was used for breaking and entering in MT, TNE and T4. I haven't seen it in CT, but material for that is scattered all over, such as Dragon Magazine articles. The author of CSC talks about refering to these past editions for inspiration. It was probably mentioned there and didn't get edited out.
