Interesting bit of Interceptors fluff

you will like the new centauri LDTD, I do :)
although as EP said they have lost interceptors for most part IIRC. more about killing the enemy than worrying about their firing back :)

Well, the Primus that attacked B5 didn't seem to have any interceptors... it didn't do much killing either, though...

it sheared off a piece of the station! Sheridan sounded rattled

That's all it achieved, though. Didn't even hit the G'Quan that I saw after stupidly firing on B5 as well. Concentration of force, you stupid decadent sods!

well it was stupid, they'd have killed Londo, Vir and who knows how many other Centauri!

What does LDTD mean?

Although apparently EP said that Primus - not the Secondus as in the show has a energy web interceptor thing in b5wars?

Also the fluff for the Octurion is all about sailing in fleets with defensive turrets etc ready and that is not in the show at all

I still say any race that has interceptor tech and doesn't have stealth, dodge, shields or similar is just plain stupid not to put them on their capital ships - especially if they are slow and difficult to manuevere or are supposed to sit the he iddle of fleets shooting at them - and bing shot at.

the crew and Captain had all had a jolly good night out celebrating the defeat of the Narn and then have to rush across the galaxy to slap another one down. So they forgot to turn on their defenses and shot the big station instead of the ship - well oK it was a really bad hangover

not in B5 Wars but in some fan tech sites and in the Primus ship plans, though it does say it's crap and doesn't work too well!

The Brakiri don't have interceptors on all their ships. The G'Vrahn was completed before the Ka'Bin'Tak yet the latter has no interceptors.

Yes the Brakiri should have them on their capital ships, completely agree..........I still don't see why they wouldn't! I don't see EA taking them off their capitial ships - why would they. Any good reason? even the Victory has them and its got Adaptive Armour and better guns than many ships........

Same with the Narn once they get the Tech - unless they feel the Ka'Bin'Tak is too big to need them?

You've just given a reason there! Why would the Octurion need them if it's big enough and all power is directed instead into weapons?

As for the Brakiri they have different corporations which can partly explain it

OK I think we agree to differ on survivabilty - can we have a choice - A Octurion varient with them and reduced weapons? Maybe the sort of thing you would want as a decedant Admiral who wants to make sure he doesn''t die!
Esp if the Liati goes down to battle (or upto Armegdeon?!) so there is more than one ship at the heady heights of War PL

Of course we could go down the White Star route and have a Liati at every power level - including fighters!!! (only with a new look model though!)

have fun :D

back on topic
When the C-town fired on the rotating section ofthe Alexander, it did not explode, as the interceptors were still active.

it struck me that this was a very silly explanation. the shot hits a starfury and carries on hitting the rotating section lightly. Hardly the thing to cause an explosion (unless on a Narn ship since they are highly explosive!)

Maybe Narn ships should take crits on a 5+ in 2nd ed..........
