It does sound most intriguing - how much of the 200 pages is stats compared to adventure /fluff (the bit I'd actually want since I don't use D20 :) )

I will be most impolite and look at the preview before making a valuation if thats ok but for 200 pages I would be inclined towards the higher figure - its a lot of time and effort put in, my more modest 90 page effort for ACTA took plenty of time!

I'm guessing you are in the US so a pdf would be best (although I always prefer a book)

thanks

If i may suggest, unless you`re writing to make a living out of it, i think you should put the book up to download in your website for free and get a "give your donation here" link on it, where people can pay whatever they think the book is worth.

I`ve seen this be done a couple times before, and although quite some people did not donate a single buck, some other did donate this or that amount.

I'd go for $10 if it's not dungeon crawling.

I'd like to think that there is something for everyone's taste here... and my definition of "dungeon" is basically any keyed location that the PCs can explore.

In this book, there are temples, tombs, palaces, "empty" desert ruins, lost cities, manor houses, castles in the mountains, sunken islands, sprawling cities with bazaars and pleasure districts, and so on. And wilderness treks through desert and jungle, and adventures at sea.

BTW, does the book provide guidelines on S&S themes in D&D 3.5?

Yes, it does. Including appropriate spells and feats, too.

Or should I expect to find elves and dwarves in the adventures?

No way! I promise you your money back if you find a single elf or dwarf in this book! :-)

LOL that's comforting to know :)
Count me in, definitely!

Another question: would the adventures and setting be easily portable to, say, d20 Call of Cthulhu instead of D&D 3.5? Or is it strongly tied to the 3.5 D&D rules (mostly in terms of spells and critters).

Cheers,
Antonio

I don't think it would be a big problem, but from what I understand, CoC d20 is class-less (but not level-less). So you would have to decide how to handle each D&D class in terms of CoC. Regarding spells and critters, they are very Cthulhuesque to begin with (I always aim for a blend of HPL, CAS and REH), so those should fit the CoC rules like a glove.

How about writing a bunch of adventures, posting them for free download on your sight. Spread the word not just among the Conan crowd, but among the whole D&D and even rpg international crowd...and then sell advertising on your site, getting advertising bucks for the number of hits you receive.

Might make more than selling a few books at $15 bucks a piece.

On that matter, if your book turns out to be a success, you might even be hired by mongoose to start writing for them...

This adventure compilation sounds very interesting. I voted 15 bucks, but that would really be pushing the upper limit for what I would pay for a PDF. An actual printed book I would of course be willing to pay much more for.
