Information on systems

I use to go to Traveller HIghport to get information about systems, how many planets and where they were located, and what sort of wealth the asteroid belts had etc. That website seems to be shut down now.

Where would I go to be able to get the official information about each system?

Traveller map is pretty well regarded. As far as "official" system details, well, as far as I know there have never really been any. It's been up to ref's or publishers to provide more details on planetary systems aside from the mainworld with it's UPP profile data.

At Traveller map you can double click on the planet as you zoom in and get more details on the system.

And don't forget you can use the Internet Archive to possibly retrieve some information from your dead website.

I like the design of Utzig IAI quite a bit, but I think some sectors or subsectors were imported incorrectly, so double check with another site before trusting it.

The TravellerRPG.com wiki is useful too, but it doesn't do a good job of citing sources clearly. It does indicate which sources apply to each page, but that's not always the handiest way to find more details, particularly for longer articles.

I was thinking about moons of gas giants and usefulness for mining and resource exploitation. The Blue system for example is written up in the Torpol cluster product as having exhausted its natural resources on the planetary surface. Contrast this with the comment in Highguard that a single asteroid could supply all the iron needs for earth for a hundred years. Could the moons or other planetary bodies in the Blue system supply a growing industrial base?
