Phoenix players!

Come prepared for our next event at IO, located at 51st Ave and Thunderbird Rd.

Start time is 12:00pm Saturday December 22nd.

The scenario will be a Battle level escort duty. Defenders and attackers will be chosen at random, so be sure to bring enough ships for both.

The winners of this mission will continue to the next level of the campaign.

You can use my ships if you need points. I will also FINALLY have my Centauri box by Saturday, but they may not even be primed by the time the event rolls around.

And yes, darklord, it will be convoy duty (I don't have my books on me right now), though a few mods will be made regarding the ships used.

Do we have to have models, or are the counter sheets good enough?

I'm pretty new, but what mods would be made to the mission?

Models would be requested, I have a Minbari, Narn, and soon a Centauri fleet as spares (pretty much all box sets). My gaming group is also new, so it would be excellent if you were to join us now.

If there is a specific fleet/ship you want, please PM me and we'll work something out. More than likely, we'll proxy any ships you want and don't have.

i know i said i'd try to come today... but I just woke up (having to work at 7am yesterday when i'm normally night shift totally threw my clock outta wack)

clock here says 12:30... which means I'm not even gona get there anywhere around start time... I'll keep an eye open tho, and try to crash your next gathering...


and yes, i know it's sad that after waking up my first reflex is to jump online to check about gaming...

That being said, the results from today's event!

End results:
All 8 Civilian Transports destroyed
All Psi Corps ships destroyed
0 Earth Alliance ships destroyed

Psi Corps deployed 2 Motherships on the south end of the board, and the Apollo/Hunter on the north.

EA split their Omegas between the two targets while driving the civilian ships down the center.

The Apollo fell to the combined attack of 2 Omegas and the Command Omega as the Hunter swung around to get behind the fleet.

Several civilian ships exploded from excessive damage, damaging the remainder of the formation.

The Hunter lost power to engines and floated past the entire EA formation.

After the MotherShips destroyed the last of the freighters, they attempted to jump to hyperspace. An Omega destroyed one of the Motherships while another got a Critical: Bridge Hit on the other. The rest of the fleet chased down the Drifting Hunter while the Psi Corps fighters killed every last remaining Starfury, then fled the board.

According to victory conditions, Earth Alliance won with 24 VPs to Psi Corps 16 VPs, but failed to save any of the transports.

quick Q... where around here carries the B5 minis? i was hoping to pick a test model up to try assembly/painting over my vacation, but didn't see any at IO...

No one actually stocks B5 yet. IO has told me that they have plans to stock it, especially if I keep generating interest in the game.

I've been getting my orders through a private contact. If you PM Magic Lilly Pad on the PP forums, he can tell you if he will help you out.

Mongoose has only recently made changes to their miniature stock, and the US still hasn't felt the effects of their changes.

One of my players pointed out that I left out a rather amusing/annoying part of the fight about Psi Corps fighters. For a good three or four turns, there was a furball involving 6 flights of Aurora Starfuries vs 1 flight of Shadowfuries that was deadlocked because the flight kept rolling out of being destroyed. After they finally killed the squadron, they took off after the last surviving ship only to be destroyed by the surviving flights of Black Omegas.

Then there was one Starfury flight who single-handedly killed three flights of Black Omega Starfuries, 2 of which were teamed up against him, before dying to a group of 3.
