Mongoose
Hello Travellers.

I put together an image of one of my favorite 'classic' Traveller settings recently and I wanted to share it with the community. Here are the links:

Slapdash digital painting version:

Raw superlarge screen aspect ratio (that I have no control over how long will be available) version:

I hope you folks enjoy it half as much as I did making it. But if you don't...

that's cool too.

To any Mongoose folks who happen along: I would love to see a re-imagined RSG a la Beltstrike if it's something do-able in context of licensing and such. It's such an evocative setting! TL 5 feudal technocracy, submarines, robots, psionics, a high tech base in the middle of an ocean that a Bond villain would admire. What's not to love?

Very nicely done - Thanks for sharing nezach!

Quite a striking, yet subdued, dynamic - love the atmosphere of it!

Something to give it scale might go nicely - like another shuttle closer in (and a human silhouette in the fore shuttle).

(The link appears to be non-functional already - how big is the file - I may be able to find a spot for it...)

Oh dear! That's my fault. A little something extra got in there during my copy paste attempt. It should work now.

Good comments though. If it helps the scale that's a Hurricane enclosed air-raft.

Holy cow, that is AWESOME... you've created some visceral energy that I always knew was there but couldn't quite express...

Keep it up!

Thanks for all the kind words folks. :D Glad to hear I did it justice.

If you're curious about the setting, DriveThruRPG sells the GDW adventure in PDF form for something like 3 USA greenbacks. I've never tried, but it should be pretty easy to run with MGT. The old GDW adventures were more like adventure outlines, so there shouldn't be a lot of conversion necessary.

As MGT Traveller starter i dont know RSG but now i want to !! :>

I have RSG (I GM'ed it back in the day). It's more of a 'setting' than it is an 'adventure module' -- but that isn't a bad thing. There are several different threads for future plotlines hidden away inside the tower.

Even getting to the place is a trial in itself! TL5 technocracy means no air/raft shuttle trips. Your PCs may have to chug their way down there inside a diesel-powered submersible...

Anderew, I just checked out the Calender link in your sig. I would be glad to participate in a good cause. Let me know if you need anything to help.

Great! The details are here: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=42942

BTW, this is my version of RSG:

The new "Secret of the Ancients" adventure got me thinking about how other classic adventures could be updated so I tried my hand at a new AN-427 Maximum Security Robot from the RSG adventure.

Very nice work! True to the Keith original, but sporting an anime look as well. I wouldn't care to turn a corner and run into one of these without some serious weaponry at hand...
